So /m/, what is your favorite mecha designed to fight kaiju?
Personally, I've always been a fan of Mechagodzilla 1. I've always liked how mechanical and bulky she looks, compared to the overly slick Mechagodzilla 2 and the more anime-esque Kiryu. Plus, love her huge arsenal. Scenes of her firing all of her weapons are some of my favorites.

See now, this was always my problem with the Hesei series. All the fights were just beam spam. Melee combat practically disappeared, or was turned into really boring "monsters just kinda wave their hands around."
Godzilla's atomic breath should be more of a finishing move or a tide turning weapon, instead of his main fucking attack.

That fight might be a bit one sided, considering MechaGodzilla is 30 meters taller than Mechani-Kong... but then again, King Kong was much smaller than Godzilla when they fought.
It would be fun, but I think Mecha-G has got this with his superior fire power.

While I do prefer the Showa action to the Hesei action, I think the Millennium films got it best. The kaiju actually fought like how you would expect, more animalistic clawing than punches or kicks, but not just non-stop beam attacks.

if you're a fan of sentai or just mecha in general, you should watch gokaiger.
it's got a pirate captain named marvelous as the leader, and it's about as awesome as you'd expect.
plus, it's a nod to previous sentai series, and its finale features every previous team, as well as their zords.avoid the power rangers equivalent, megaforce. neo saban butchered both goseiger(the previous series) as well as gokaiger to make it.
