In about a month or so, it happens
>>
it's going to be terrible
>>
I was just thinking about this the other day.
Where do I go for updates about this thing?
>>
>>14180924
They really ripped-off Votom's ATs. Don't they risk to get sued for the design?
>>
>>14181032
Well the designer got the idea because he watched votoms as a kid, so I'd assume not.
>>
Is it even still happening? I've heard nothing for months
>>
Doubt, they haven't built up any hype whatsoever
>>
>>14181026
There aren't any updates like these guys said:

>>14181057
>>14181065

They ain't done shit. If this is happening at all, it sure as hell isn't happening in a month.
>>
>>14181455
They are setting up everyone for disappointment. You have to announce a venue and then hype people to get on your side. Its probably cancelled if not eternally delayed.
>>
Probably not happening robots are expensive as hell.
>>
>>14180932
This. Safety concerns and all that lame nonsense will probably make it so they're just hitting targets or something instead of actually fighting each other.
>>
>>14181611
And it's between a company that builds these for profit and a couple of fags who have a pile of kickstarter money. So it has nothing to do with money.

>all these nay sayers

It's like you punks don't want this to happen!
How can any of you browse this part of 4chan and not crave the manliest of expressions via giant robot combat!
I'm not telling you to not be skeptical, but you gotta hope, you gotta BELIEVE!

DON'T BELIEVE IN THE GIANT ROBOT FIGHT! BELIEVE IN THE GIANT ROBOT FIGHT THAT BELIEVES IN YOU!

No I just don't want it to be lame and ruin any future potential for a real robot smackdown.
>>
>>14181906

this is why people hate glfags.

Let's be honest, it'll be pic related but with 10ft tall, slow, boring, wastes of money
>>
>>14181971
is that Lister?
>>
>>14181906
What expressions? Publicity stunts? KURATAS wants the money, American leeches want a name so they can make money off of something else.
>>
>>14181906
I wish people like you would stop constantly lowering my appreciation of that show.
>>
>>14181989
Why should stupid fans make you like a show less again?

why are you worried about it being lame?

Many things were lame in their infancy.

The computer was a big metal box of stupid useless shit at first.

The first airplane couldn't even fly higher than a thousand km in the air.

I couldn't get a girlfriend in highschool.

Lot's of things are lame when they're starting out. The point is to keep pushing it until it's no longer lame.
>>
>>14182619
Multitude of reasons.

That's not in the infancy of something though.

I'm sure the Americans will exploit some simple "rule gain" or something to their advantage. Then they'll win and do the big ol' American showboating, weebs will be mad, all the Americans will be fat and have beards. Life goes on.

I don't get it, but okay
>>
>>14181032

I think I read something before about the creators of Kuratas idolizing Okawara to an extent. And Okawara apparently not minding the whole thing.
>>
It'll be two robots slowly shambling up to each other in a gigantic arena, then awkwardly smacking either other once or twice before the other one falls onto a safely net.

I was trying to say that my high school years was just the beginning of an awesome life I've had in my twenties.

But mainly what I was saying was have hope for awesomeness.
>>

You did a very poor job then. Congrats.

they updated their instagram last week

looked like they were preparing packages to send to their backers

What did he build it for? Is that not supposed to be a project for future development in whatever?
>>
>>14180924
I'm hyped to be honest.

I was wondering about this pretty recently, actually. I think it's the second or third step to robot fighting being a legitimate thing, so even if it sucks I'll watch it. With something this technologically insane, I'm willing to be patient, take baby steps, and enjoy the ride as it comes.
>>
>>14181032
He sculptured the Scopedog steel statue previously ,so it sorts out.
>>
Kuratas is the hero
Megabot is a broken tractor that Geisters have possessed and made into the MOTW
>>
>>14180924
Oh, it really does?

Not enough hype though

>Build Fighters IRL
>>
>>14181979
Yes.
>>
>>14188296
>Megabot's the MOTW
Nah. It's just a prime example of East vs. West when it comes to mecha design.
>East: we'll make it cool and sleek, something you'd want a model kit for. Appearances are very important, the weapons don't necessarily need to be big to win the day
>West: appearance? Who gives a shit we're making a weapon, make it bulky and slap big guns on it. More dakka dammit, more!
>>
>>14180924
Kek who's ready for 30 mins of boring target shooting?
>>
Am I the onl who hates the possibility of the robots that we'll get are either like this or fucking LEGOs
>>
>>14190139
>fucking LEGOs
You hating on Mindstorms?
On a more positive note, consider the fact that animu robots are basically running on science so advanced it's probably magic and using materials that don't exist. This is a pretty good start, with a technology as advanced as giant robots we're going to have to play the long game.
