Not him, but I've seen PLENTY of times where people treat their own headcanon as "fact" or present it as such, even if it ends up contradicting what the headcanon was for.
I know it's pretty fucking stupid to swing around your own theories as if they're proven facts, but can't the act of speculation just be an interesting exercise? It's not like it's inherently retarded to try and fill in the missing spots of a series, especially when the series itself is written in a way that demands the viewer to interpret the world and piece shards of information together, because they probably won't be straight-up told anything anytime soon.
The way I personally see it, it's almost like playing a harmless guessing game with the creator itself, but what do I know. No need to get so worked up over either ends of it, anyway.

If his trauma came from some random unknown Gundam, why would the flashback to the Wing Zero (which wasn't even shown in the Black History episode, so there was no set up for this) rather than that original Gundam?
You're the one who seem to care way too much about continuity and want to overcomplicate things. Occam's razor. If he has a flashback to that Gundam when seeing a completely unrelated one (the flash happens when he sees the Turn-X use the Moonlight butterfly), it's most likely the relevant one to his trauma, not just a random part of a video that he watched later.
