What are some western mecha that don't meet any of the following criteria?

>arbitrarily placed armor with exposed internals
>chicken walker
>extremely limited joint mobility
>arms with no hands
>no head
>huge glass canopy cockpit
>open cockpit
>superfluous panel lines
>rehash/homage/ripoff to japanese design (e.g. Macross, Transformers, generic 70s stovepipe robots)
>humongous torso with tiny legs

What's wrong with chicken walker?

PC game from the 90s, Heavy Gear.

Not sure if it fits your ripoff criteria.

look autist, I get this stuff off google. Anyways, I had the manual for the game, the mechs were not colored but the art is accurate.

Anyways, I thought the game was fun back then, though it is probably unplayable today.

Humongous torso and arms with tiny legs, aka the King Kong proprtions
>>
>>14162485
The new Burger concept art makes the arms smaller and ganglier, and makes the heads even smaller. Also the faction distinction in aesthetics gets drowned out.

Getter Robo, Daitarn, Dunbine.

They don't, and Dunbine is still disproving your post. Key word is "extremely".

I also don't see how either of them have that.

Daitarn has a blade connected to both its shin and its foot at the same time. That shit don't make no sense, and the chogokin has to cheat it.

And Getter and the other oldschool tube bots literally have no joints, they're just welded together syllables that magically bend.

>>14162658
The loader things from Aliens and Avatar, the robots from Mechwarrior.

>>14162682
No, they aren't. You should really make an effort to learn the stuff you plan on talking about before you start shitopsting about it.

To quote people from the entertainment design/VFX industry about robots back when I was in school:

>It looks too much like a guy in a suit, make it look more like a moving machine!
>>
>>14162690
Why do you faggots always feel the need to reply even when you can't form an actual counterargument?

If "the joints don't make sense" should be an argument against western mechs, why in THE FUCK shouldn't it be a strike against Japanese mechs, you fucking weeaboo?
>>
>>14163059
>the joints don't make sense
Watch out, your goalposts are on the loose

The question was of "extremely limited joint mobility". They move fine even if they make no sense. Sorry, you lose.

>why in THE FUCK shouldn't it be a strike against Japanese mechs,
Because criticism of a flaw only applies to things in which that flaw is present. Most nip robots are designed by people with some degree of technical and engineering skill so they can make functional and fully articulated toys. Western mecha on the other hand is shat out by "artists" who know fuck-all about machines and honestly don't need to since they're either making immobile statues or CGI renders where they can just cheat the joints.

It's ok. Not that great, but I can understand its historical significance.

SCUD
The Super Robot from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!
Jenny Wakeman, her sisters, various Cluster goons
Many Lego mecha (e.g. Robobots, Titan XP, etc) Bionicle.

>>14162617
Xabungle and Walker Galliar, your average GM or Zaku.

I have this very figure. He's great, the comic is great. There's even a scene where the Scud, and the cyborg mafia use their imported Japanese combiner robots to kick the asses of zombie dinosaurs sent by former statesman and master of the dark arts Ben Franklin to kill the godfather. Good shit.

As a guy who does't really like a lot of western mecha nowadays, I find that if you look there will always be more and more of something. I also think that east v. west arguing is pretty silly. It's something I did once but eventually I figured it'd be better just to go on and enjoy what I do whilst not really paying attention to things I don't like or want to think about.

I believe many of the things listed in the OP as being common to American mecha in particular are true, however I also think that if that's the way things are then so be it. There's nothing much gained by arguing.

Literally any VF from Macross
>>
>>14167927
Depends on the mode.
Both fighter and Gerwalk have glass canopy cockpits. Gerwalk has chicken-walker legs (though it doesn't really walk so much as just hover). Also the joint mobility of the original VFs relied on a lot of unpossible flexibility in the shoulders and hips.
>>
>>14162382

>Smooth armor plating
>not a chicken walker

>that's a 'ead

>not that I know of (inb4 someone quips "BATTLEPOD!!!", no)
>more like head in this case but it's miles ahead of its contemporary, the spess mahreen walking box

Who keeps spamming all the "western /m/ sucks" threads lately, and why do they keep doing so? Wasn't enough to shit up the western /m/ threads we get sporadically?
>>
>>14168313
Probably some guy who caught wind of how you can stir up a mess with it real easy.

It doesn't really matter, frankly. Post in threads you like and ignore or if necessary report shitosting.

It's a lot harder to cheat that sort of thing in CGI than it is in hand-drawn works, actually.

That's why modern VF designs have such complex transformation mechanisms compared to the older ones.
