This confusing bit was explained to me in one of the Gunpla/Plamo generals. It turns out the actual standard scale for FSS kits is 1/72, and they just use 1/100 because some idiot didn't know their math back then and they can't be bothered to correcting it for the sake of advertising, I guess. Funnily enough, the 1/144 scale FSS kits are genuine 1/100's. So Batsh and the new A-Toll from Volks will match MGs in height properly.

The movie just covers the first volume and takes itself more seriously than that part of the manga. It's gorgeous looking, but a feels a lot different than the manga despite the plot being almost the same.
The character designs are also quite different and more detailed than the manga, for better or worse.

That would befucking awesome.
My concern is that the fight would be very quick: the MMs are likely far faster than the rollout turn- series, but lack the sheer destructive power that the turn series posess. Besides the Moonlight Butterfly, I think it's fairly safe to assume the Turns had some other ludicrously destructive weapons like the G-Self's photon torpedoes or VSBRs powered by a black hole. Also, the Turn A is designed to be an anti-fleet weapon like the Dendrobium instead of a general-purpose MS.
While it could go either way and would be totally rad, I think it would be over in about five seconds.

FSS is so damn confusing on where it stands with racial and gender topics. On one hand, it has the most racially diverse cast I've ever seen in any anime or manga, and the Asian characters actually look Asian, even the ones with Japanese names. You have super androgynous characters left and right, and some who claim to be either genderless or hermaphrodites. The ratio between male and female characters is roughly equal, even if you don't count the Fatima, and most of those female characters mentioned seem to be in positions of high power (as queens, headdliners, meights, etc)
On the other hand, you have the super submissive Fatimas, which are literally the personification of everything Nips look for in girls, and Joker society itself revolves around codes of chivalry and honor, which are obviously very outdated as far as how people are treated.

I think you're missing the big point of FSS.
The society is one that has taken two steps forward, but three steps back. Racism and sexism no longer exist, but discrimination still does for Headdliners and Fatimas. Wars are fought not because of ideologies, but because of land and resources. And despite their technology being powerful enough to wipe out several civilizations several times over the course of a millennia, they choose to dick around and make giant robots with it to seize land and gain social status as opposed to creating some WMD like we do today. And the Fatimas themselves are superior to humans in almost every aspect, but have to have mental restrictions placed on them so they don't revolt.
The entire society is one of contradictions. Which is why Amaterasu is able to so easily take over it later on. He crosses the line and uses WMDs and starts an ideological war with the intent of pure destruction rather than seizing land or resources. When you look at it as a whole, FSS is a very nihilistic work.

If you compare the two carefully you'll see a lot of big (and better) differences in the proportions. It's not on par with an MH yet, but still vastly superior to what we started out with.
