Speaking from just an aesthetics, standpoint the Orange/Red color and actually looking like a gotta go fast jet with boosters slapped on are way better. Harute just looks too clunky in flight mode. Hell, that's something I hate about the ReZEL which I actually love to death in MS mode (yeah yeah I know, aerodynamics in space, but it still bothers me.
Also, I'll out myself as a potential pleb, but shared cockpits grind my gears unless they're fuckhuge like the Zero or the Jagers.

I think it's pretty clear that the Kimaris is an interceptor unit and grunt-killer extraordinaire. You remember when Gali Gali fucking split that Graze in half when the Kimaris first showed up? Just imagine what it would do charging through a group of enemy units.
Barbatos, on the other hand, seems well suited for fucking up anything it fights 1v1.
