What is the best show starring sentient, living robots?
>>14146933
Big O
>>14146933
Dragon's Heaven
>>14146933
So besides GaoGaiGar, I haven't watched the Brave shows. What's with those two starring what appear to be complete edgelords? (Fourth from left, second from right).
>good Mightgaine subs never
Bullshit
>>14147024
Might Gaine and Dagwon, which are the only two I haven't seen a single episode of. Pretty sure the main kid in Might Gaine isn't an edgelord, at least. That's not how Brave shows usually roll.
>>14147024
>Fourth from left
He's from Might Gaine. He's batman.
Transformers, duh.
>""""living"""" robots
>>14147024
Pretty much there to attract the ladies. However, the leads themselves couldn't be less edgy; Maito is a kid version of Bruce Wayne, while En is the hot-blooded red member for a not-Sentai Gatchaman team.
>>14147072
I put that there purely to differentiate between robots that are operated by an onboard AI like a Haro (which is arguably a form of sentience) and robots that seem to have minds of their own.
That said, I'll allow J-Decker's Super AI because there's almost no restrictions on how it allows the robots to act.
>>14147078
In all fairness, Batman can be pretty edgy.
>DO YOU BLEED?
>>14147120
True. I was referring more to Adam West, BTAS-era or B&tB Bruce Wayne, than the more hardass ones.
>>14147078
>Maito is a kid version of Bruce Wayne
He stops sparing criminals once they go from goofy threats to actual serious ones.
When I got to episode 19 where thecrazy Mifune shogun gang makes a clone and then he ends up dying to save Maito from them, I thought it'd end with Maito just giving the villain of the week to the police like in all previous episode, but then the villain of the week just blew up with his robot - which was really satisfying after the dark turn that the episode had taken.
>>14147024
How do they look like edgelords?
>>14147228
You see, they're slightly older and grinning, not smiling childishly.
>>14147235
Still doesn't make sense.
>>14147072
Transformerfag please, don't be delusional. I know it's hard for you kind, but at least try.
>>14147001
spoiler alert trigger warning
>>14147274
Dorothy isn't a spoiler
Machine Robo Revenge of Cronos is pretty cool
>>14146933
Evangelion. Sorry if liking a different show than you personally offends you.
>>14147380
subs never
>>14147434
There's only one robot in Evangelion and it's not sentient or living.
>>14147482
It already has the subs it deserves
>>14147485
I'm pretty sure Unit-01 is sentient considering that it has a soul and shows initiative in acting in its own interests multiple times. Also Rei isn't a robot if that's what your'e saying.
>>14147503
He's talking about Jet Alone
>>14146933
Gorg
I see no one here has taste
>>14147503
That's all well and good, but 01 isn't a robot. It's an alien meat puppet. All the Evas are meat puppets. Jet Alone is the only robot.
>>14147677
Literally the thing that invented the term robot applied it to constructed meat
>>14146933
Digimon.
>>14147186
Oh, well then. At any rate, here's to hoping Sasword moves on to this show, although it'll be quite the mood change for him (going from the goofiest Brave show to one of the darkest).
>>14147707
Goldran actually does get kinda dark near the end, what with Serious constantly breaking out his planet destroyer gun and then going all suicidal over his father disowning him
>>14147744
>then going all suicidal over his father disowning him
Episode 33 becomes considerably less hilarious with that knowledge in mind.
Susei no Gargantia. Chamber may not be "living", but he sure is plenty sentient.
>>14147699
English and Czech are living languages, nigga.
You want to make the Attack on Titan general or should I?
>>14147752
>that show
>best anything
>>14146933Doozybots
>>14146933
Beast Wars.
>>14148562
Best tits.
>>14147557
This
In chronological order: Astro Boy, Brave Raideen, Giant Gorg, and Goagaigar.
>>14146933
Are we only talking about giant robots here or do humanoid/android lifeforms count as well?
>>14153290
It all counts. I had expected someone to bring up GitS by this point
>>14153290
>>14153508
I'm rather torn in regards to bringing up Winspector. It has some good episodes for Bikel and Walter, yet both are helpless against threats 95% of the time. Wonder if Solbrain has better balance in this regard with SolDozer.
On the other hand, Janperson is fairly good, in regards to Metal Heroes shows featuring robotic heroes that kick a lot of ass.
