Face looks a bit broad, but mean looking.
I prefer the Katoki handsome face to the Okawara styled one.
So ten yays for me.
This is by far the best looking rendition of the RX-78 after the PS2 One Year War mould.
The Thunderbolt colours are austere and the proportions have been refined. Love the high shoulders and thinner shields.
Problem is, will the PS joints be able to hold the dual beam rifle with shield. They really should go back to ABS joints for certain areas.
The Psyco Zaku will definitely bring back the beam bazooka.
Too bad we won't get an MG TB GM as GMs are no longer guaranteed after a Gundam release.
MG TB Zaku has a higher chance of happening since we haven't had a new 1/100 Zaku in a while as we reach the 10 year mark next year(Ver.2.0 was in 2007). Then the beam cannon would be p-bandai like the mega bazooka launcher.

I get the feasibility of making it since MGs are really at the point of no more "profitable designs"
I get Katoki as a selling point in design
I get that due to Star Wars, Bandai is really slow recently with there other franchises

They've never stopped using abs or plastic on plastic joints. So I doubt this is of any concern, besides that red-brown FAG with the 2huge gun, nothing that isn't a separate stand would hold it up.

I'm conflicted, I got the hg, was gonna paint it up (colored foils a shit) but seeing this...and then the fucking psyco zaku.
Jesus christ I'm running out of display room bandai, insta-buy if the box art is better than the initial manga hg boxes but knowing ver ka I may have to see.
What does hurt is the fact its a retool of the full armor gundam, another are the knee caps, I'm fine painting the hg as I expect details to be molded but not always colored, but those knee caps and thrusters are supposed to be white and red, why in holy fuck is the mg got an all blue knee cap, even the hg least had the knee caps in white with red thruster stickers.

This better be fixed, and not with stickers, this is an mg, retool or not only the likes of the mg full armor gundam blue version are allowed to have those kinda stickered layers and that's because its a redeco

The P-bandai Heavy Gundam (base kit is the Perfect Gundam) combined with the MG 2.0-based Full Armour Gundam.

It's a Ver.Ka.
As in it's Katoki's version of the design. Sometimes he tries to remain true to the original, sometimes he makes little alterations, sometimes he does heavy redesigns.

I really want to get into Gunpla models, but I'm a little intimidated since the only Gundam I ever collected were the old action figures from the late 90s/early 00s.
I want to either get the ZZ or F91 Gundam to start, probably Master Grade. Is this a good place to start or will I be in over my head?

Gunpla are the Lego of the model kit industry. Everything is snapfit and modern ones are very high quality (Usually). None of it is really that difficult from the past couple of decades.

Thanks. I had one of the old model kits of Wing when I was a teeneger. (The unpainted ones with the cement glue and everything.) Managed to get it together, but never painted or put the decals on it. Was daunting and stressful for me, though. I could maybe do one of the oldschool kits now that I'm older and have more patience. Gunplas look really cool, though.

MGs aren't any harder than HGs, but they are more time consuming and expensive. Better to start with a HG so you'll waste less money on the inevitable first timer mistakes.

If you want to try it out and like the F91 then try the HGUC. It's smaller and simpler than the MG, but still a really great kit and it's super cheap.

I was leaning towards the F91, anyways. It's more sleek looking compared to the ZZ Gundam, and I definitely wanted a UC Model to start with. I'll probably get the HG F91, then. Thanks for the advice. MG F91 is unique due to its radical no-polycap design (the first one in Bandai experiment).
I love mine, but I wouldn't recommend it as the first gunpla for beginner.
