Except the TV episodes have better animation. Anytime they do a scene transition, they have to redraw it. The redraws so far put the OVA Blu Ray to shame

If you haven't seen Unicorn, watching 0096 is the more worthwhile.
As a Unicornfag I have to say that I find the pacing dissatisfying. Maybe it's just because I've watched Unicorn so many times, but the episode endings feel far too abrupt and this disrupts the flow of the story.

If you've already watched Unicorn then no. The chopped up nature really grinds up any semblence of good pacing.
If you haven't watched yet, I'd recommend just hitting up the OVAs instead and keeping an eye out for noise here on /m/ about new scenes in RE:0096.
Do note that RE:0096 does have some redrawn scenes (so better overall art quality than OVA). So if you're hell bent on seeing the definitive version, wait for RE to finish airing and marathon it instead.
TL;DR its not really worth following week to week.

I've watched Unicorn OVAs and still enjoy it really much. I even re-watched past UC96 gundam for more immersion.
The mecha is one of the prettiest in the franchise IMO.

I know this is /m/ and reading comprehension and understanding is not to be expected here, but I meant that the story unfolds slower compared to if you didn't watch Unicorn as it came out and watched it when it was all finished. Instead of getting the entire thing in like 1 - 3 sittings (depending on how much time you have a day to watch anime), if you follow RE0096 weekly you'll get the entire thing in like 24 sittings with a week in between each one. It's the difference between being able to watch and digest the entire story in two days, or 5 months
I've got both episodes download and just haven't been able to push myself to watch them
I don't dislike unicorn, I like it a lot more than a lot of people here. I just have an overall passive feeling towards it so unless it turns out some scenes have changed I probably won't until I watch through UC again

Maybe, but you also have to take into account being interrupted by the OP and ED in odd places, since the editing is rather rough, every 20 minutes.
Usually that wouldn't be an issue for me personally when binge watching a show with a good OP and ED, but the OP and ED for RE0096 fucking sucks and I find skipping the OP and ED manually breaks the immersion and flow of a binge.
