Adding a bunch of lines on sturdy static expressionless figures is not exactly what I would call "effort". Nagai is struggling very hard with appeal thes days, he's so restrained compared to his former self, his drawings have no life, they have better anatomy and are more detailed in some parts (not in Devilman Saga, that feels lazy), but they're just boring. I was at Romics and they completely fucked up the autograph/photo part, basically you had to compile a module you should have been able to find online but SURPRISE SURPRISE only friends and relatives of the organizers managed to.
Like everything in Italy, nepotism fucked it up big time, too bad because a guy got close enough to Go Nagai to hand him a book and a pen and he was going to sign it with a big smile on his face while the security basically stopped him from doing it.

Most people remember the boom of commercial television(before the 80's we only had RAI which was a state service with some things made for the public like theatre adaptations and classics serials like War and Peace and stuff like that), a lot of mafia killings of public workers, winning the world cup and politics being corrupted, but that was always the case.
Economic-wise it wasn't as good as the 60's and it was less interesting than the 70's due to no "years of lead", the nostalgia is mainly due to it happening before today and some music hits.
