You have a several kilometer long ship that has a main weapon range from Earth to just past Saturn. That literally destroys spacetime and causes massive ship vaporizing reactions with kilometers of the path of the beam.
If that isn't enough, they have bigger versions called Grand Cannons, on Earth. Oh and don't forget Reaction Weapons. Which are basically nukes on steroids.

We don't know that. All we can say right now is that it's not currently possible. Things like the Alcubierre Drive may be possible and information like that the universe must have expanded far faster than the speed of light in the first few seconds of the universe and that galaxies may still be travelling faster than the speed of light away from each other along the galactic web hint that it could be possible. Though many like Hawking say it must not be because it'd break the flow of causality and they think that there must be some kind of rule built in to existence to prevent that (as it were). We may disprove it some day, but we haven't done so yet. Regardless, it could be. It's certainly no more of a stretch than psychics in giant robots.

It is technically possible to warp spacetime. Which would allow for FLT travel. The problems are that it requires a huge amount of energy and the radiation created by warping space would incinerate the ship.
