Time is so rock solid in the minds of the hordes but they can't
explain why it should slip away
explain why it should slip away.
History and future are the comforts of our curiosity
but here we are
rooted in the present day
rooted in the present day.
The questions that beseech us in life are testament
of our helplessness.
There's no vestige of beginning, no prospect of an end.
When we all disintegrate we'll all happen again, yeah.
If you came to conquer, you'll be king for a day.
But you, too, will deteriorate and quickly fade away.

Rinko is best girl.

Anyway, just watched through both series, enjoyed the hell out of the first one, Try was a failure. All the main characters were retarded.

>>

>>14093126
it didn't, technically. They said it was successful at the IBO reveal event. Though it's not like we know what determines a success for Banrise or not.

It was still a major step down from GBF
>>
>>14093126
The only thing we find bad about GBF is the over reliance on the "Build Knuckles". It's a climax duller.

And then Try amplify that to the extreme by having Build Burning.

Only the last episode has that feel of GBF.
>>
>>14093151
>>14093151
>Though it's not like we know what determines a success for Banrise or not.

"It made money".

A lot of people around here seem to think that if something isn't an explosive success then it is a failure. Try most likely met its sales goals and possibly more. It just didn't sell so well it sold out on various designs like the original did. People forget that selling that well isn't typical for a gunpla release.
>>
So, what's your dream Build Fighters episode? Here's mine:

Ral gets a booty call from Sei's mom to meet her at the World Tournament Arena. He gets there, turns out it was the PPSE Chairman and Codename C using a voice modifier. All of the Gunpla Mafia is there too. They've stolen all of his Gouf models and they tell him he has to follow all their instructions and whatever happens to him he has to act like he enjoys it. If he doesn't, they will break all of his Goufs and boot Sei and Reiji from the Tournament.

So the next day, Ral walks into a room wearing diapers and a pacifier, acting like a retarded baby. All of the Gunpla mafia is there and they give him the hardest, most brutal gangrape in history. As instructed, Ral acts like he completely enjoys it and asks for more.

Then in walks that guy Tatsuzo from episode 7. Turns out he joined the Gunpla Mafia for revenge. He's been eating a special protein-only diet for weeks just for this. He pulls down his pants and partially defecates the longest, thickest, hardest log ever, and proceeds to use it to give Ral the most furious ass-to-ass action ever recorded. Ral can't hold his tears anymore, but pretends they're from pleasure. It's finally over.

Then the Chairman reveals the room they're in is actually see through from the outside, and they're in the tournament arena. All of the audience has been watching Ral get gangbanged and enjoy it, and it's been broadcasted worldwide. They finally kick him out of the premises, and break all of his models anyway.

Later, Ral runs into Sei's mom, who tells him she didn't know he was such a fag. Her husband walks in and proceeds to have passionate sex with her in front of Ral, and after he finishes, pees all over him, much to her delight.

After the ending credits, Ral is wandering off on a road in the middle of nowhere. A speeding car runs him over and breaks his spine, but it's non lethal. He is left laying there in extreme pain for days, and finally dies of hunger.

>>
I really hope that the OVA is more GBF than Try.
>>
>>14093262
Wow great argument faglord you really convinced me with those hot opinions.
>>
>>14089420
Well the first season of GBF has been reairing on Japanese TV quite often recently.

It just ended a rerun a few weeks ago, and another one has started again.

Let me put that into perspectives, modern original anime very veyr VERY rarely get reruns on Japanese TV. Once it airs, the only time it will be rerun is on specialist cable channels.

The fact it has had 3(more?) runs on TV means it's still bringing in new fans 3 years on.

>"It made money"

Unfortunately, some nice kits came out of that awfully paced show, so yes. GBFT made money and the execs would consider it a success.
>>
>>14094949
GBF was a special case because it made the socially awkward Gundam obsessed toy collector the hero in a story where Gunpla are the most popular and important thing in the world, and then it crammed a metric fuckton of obscure msv's that only the aforementioned obsessed fan would recognize. On top of that, they had the love interest react with humility and awe at Ramba Fucking Ral knowing absolutely everything about everything related to Gundam AND Ral speaking highly of Sei's encyclopedic knowledge of Gundam as a valuable asset. It pretty much shamelessly glorified autistic Gunota (which I will henceforth refer to as "Gunautism"). Not only that, but the shitload of cameo appearances by both MSV's and characters led to newb viewers asking "who's who and what's that?" so the aforementioned Encyclopedia Gunota got to show off their excessive knowledge of the franchise.

Honestly I can't imagine how they could have more thoroughly stroked the audience's ego short of having Rinko reach out of the tv and give you a handjob.

And yes, I fucking LOVED it. My pic in the thank-you is the Zaku II standing over a G1 Soundwave (sideways pic just to the right of Build Strike's waist) and I was one of the people who tweeted the image to the GBF staff.

What the fuck did they do? The only part that was even remotely charming at all was the last episode where the Super Fumina is revealed.

Id like to see anything BF set up after the time skip. Honestly what puzzles me more than anything about Try was it would have been far less work to follow up on all the BF plot threads and throw a cameo every 5 episodes

I feel what tanked Try the most was having to split screen-time and development between 3 characters. In the original Sei was the clear protagonist - Reiji got some development here and there but the series was stronger because it was mostly about Sei and how he interacted with others. Since Try introduced the 3v3 format it had too many characters to juggle.

>>14095015
Man, BF was too great. I miss 3 years ago us.
>>
>>14094762
And then there was the idea of sending the studio a collage of pictures saying fuck you or with poorly built gunpla after the TRY finale.
My god did things went south, it's almost unbelievable how much they fucked up,
>>
>>14095816
When GBF had finished, the writers mentioned that the episodes where multiple people fought were the hardest to put together. With more characters, it became harder to challenge them as a group and have the audience remain aware of what they were doing. Despite this understanding, they went ahead with the 3v3 setup. The team idea wasn't bad in-and-of itself, but having all fights be 3v3 made the planning absurd. Far too many characters to introduce and then throw away.

Shame they didn't go with 3x1v1 or some other arrangement. Also, I felt like the world championship was still a singles arrangement, so why are these regional and national tournaments on a team basis? Although, Sei/Fellini/Mao would be a pretty awesome team.
>>
>>14096802
I feel like they skipped a season or something.
After BF one would think the logical progressin would be double battles. It migjtbe a bit difficult but I think it's doable and they already proved the team dynamic works with Sei and Reiji.
Who the fuck thought they needed to jump straight into 3v3 battles?
>>
>>14096827

>/Greco/ stays for a bit but looses a lot of people who either couldn't follow it or just didn't like it
>IBO doesn't even bother to get keep it's general and looses a bunch of momentum after the first 5 episodes

Will we ever get the old times back? Will 2017 provide /m/ with a quality show for anons to latch onto and make tons of OC for?
>>
>>14098946
GBF was actually fun and basically sucked all of our cocks with a smile so everybody had fun. It was exactly what everyone wanted from a Gunpla-based series.

Try killed the hype for obvious reasons. Jegan how're you doesn't make for great discussion and threads became waifuposting or constant rage and "how can we fix this show".

Greco was shitposting central for half the airing, and hardly due to its quality. The people who had criticism were met with some pro-Greco memeing/false flagging and then responded by killing any real discussion that could be had so it became hard to stay excited in threads. Honestly Genki Gundam isn't the best to get hype generals for. Stick to A/Z

IBO is genuinely shit and nobody really cares enough. It was trashed weekly with only a few (usually) threads up at once until IBOIDF arrived at around the re-entry and it became shitposting again.

We need something back to get us HYPED. GRAZE YOUR FLAG and #noshirtsnojewsnohomo was fun and we could have kept generals if the show maintained that feeling.
