I like it, 13 x 40 minute eps strikes the perfect balance between long enough to let it tell a story and short enough it doesn't need to pad things out or stall progression to fill out the series.
I really do like this story and I want to see where it goes but the whole extermination team aspect of the show is so good and their chemistry worked so well that I honestly wish this was a show about a bunch of exterminators going around stomping kaijin and their daily lives

They've released several direct to videos for older fans in the last couple of years. This is their attempt at a mini-series for the same audience.

I have to agree with everyone else. It kind of dragged during the non-fight scenes, but overall it was pretty good and I'm really looking forward to the next one. I'm hoping we can keep the raws coming consistently.

The pacing was terrible, but I like how they're using wire work in the fights instead of CG.
I didn't mind the pacing so much given that it was the first episode and that meant pretty much setting the field for everything that's going to follow, or at least that's what I'm hoping will be the case.
Now that we've had both our main Amazons show up, we might see a bit better pacing for things.
That all being said.. WHEN THE FUCK CAN I GET A COPY OF THAT ENDING SONG? So damned good.

Some scenes dragged a bit, like with the daughter facing the mother. However that was a good scene in spite of that. Love the camera work throughout this.
Only thing I can say I dislike is the obvious limb props. If you can't afford to buy or make realistic fake limbs, then you are better off with camera work that "implies" gore rather than shows it outright.
Overall great start. The early Hesei feel to it is lovely and provides a good contrasting but complimenting vibe to the lighter contemporary seasons. Now I am gonna be more hyped for this than for Ghost for the next couple of weeks.

The ending scene was very dense in content toku-wise, since we'd usually expect to just introduce the MC's transformation there, where instead it technically crosses like 3 different groups of people in an un-obvious skirmish.
Looking forward to more but not quite hooked.
Action didn't quite hit awesome for me.
Mamoru's steam transformation looks silly in longer shots, and the cut in green blood spurts look really out of place.
Wasn't expecting Alpha's cockiness. I liked it because it emphasised a more human fighter but wish his cocky smile didn't break up that sick Amazon call out from the trailer shot.

Having worked on a small ranch that raised chickens for their eggs, I can tell you from experience that these are terrible conditions to raise chickens in. These chickens would not only get sick easily, but they would be miserable here which also affects their health and egg production.

Welp, I was actually hoping to watch Blue Buster in this show, but I guess this is it for him.
Okay so, hypothetical question.
You find out one day that you have been infected with Amazon cells. Which would you prefer to use, the suppressing medicine or the Amazon register? For this hypothetical, I'm excluding the driver since we still don't know how it's issued or why only Haruka and Jin have them, and it's most likely not an option for just any Amazon.
The pros and cons seem to be thus; the medicine seems to work as long as you continue the regular doses, effectively removing the threat of becoming an Amazon at the cost of constantly feeling a little shitty. Presumably, as long as the drugs continue to work, this appears to be a long term solution. The downside being that if you miss even one dose, your suppressed Amazon cells go ape shit almost immediately, which means maintaining a regular dosage schedule is extremely important.
The register is a much easier to maintain system of control, with all dosing being automatic there's no need to worry about missing doses, thus making it much easier to maintain a normal life. Plus with practice it seems you can learn to tap into your Amazon form anyway and utilize it as an ability like Mamoru has done. The obvious downside though is that it literally numbers your days. Once the two year dosage supply runs out, you can't be fitted with another one, and you're marked for execution.

Part of their "Super Hero Projects" year. Basically, Sentai and Rider are having anniversaries this year with Rider #1 and Zyuohger.

That lived up to my hopes
The 45 minutes really does it well as it leads to a more subdued pace where they can feel stuff out more, it meant that they got a decent amount of set up done this episode. Amazon Labour were pretty fun but I can see their role being minimized as time goes on, still it was a neat concept as was seeing normal humans take down a monster. Not much to say about everyone else yet but their roles seem obvious and look like they could be interesting. Still it could fuck it all up but as first episodes go it was strong.
The fights were very good. Nice use of wires and it has a sort of amazon feel to them with a lot of claws and jumping. A lot of nice camera work as well but it could do with less close ups that obscure your view. I thought the grey filter might ruin it a bit but it actually felt pretty natural and didn't make the tone dull. Also I noticed that mole, spider and bat were creatures original Amazon faced so that might be a reference. Not sure about bug but that might have just been a general reference to riders as amazon is a lizard not bugman. They were all really nice suits apart from bat's wings

Not sure about the mole, but spider and bat monsters are sort of a core, central figure for Riders to face. #1 fought a 'Spider Man', and then a 'Bat Man'. Kuuga did the same. During the one movie that featured Skull's backstory, he faced off against a Spider Man as well. Hell, when Gaim decided it was done with the Dance Dance Gangs of New York antics, the first actually shown kill by an Invess, kicking off the invasion arc, was done by a Spider Invess.

Yep. Particularly on the chronology front of things, hence why the first monster in W is the Spider Man as per the Skull encounter, and the same for Gaim's Spider Invess. Precure isn't it.
For one, it's wholly for little children. Rider consistently attempts a young adult drama angle (shut up, it does) and Sentai has rather freeform theming so from time to time you get something good out of it as well. Precure is just that, a cartoon for little girls. Yeah, you get cute girls doing fisticuffs (though progressively less, and really besides Futari Wa and maybe Heartcatch in places, there just hasn't BEEN a "cool heroine" mood in it). The thought is that people of a certain demographic and gender will only support something that involves their own demographic and gender, whereas it's plain as day that it's not completely true.
Basically, it's not like anybody's pining for a series to just randomly have a female heroine as the main. But a full-fledged side character or a protagonist of a special is... well, long overdue.
How about Fourze Gaiden: Kamen Rider Nadeshiko? Maybe give her a character for once. You could do so much with it.
Occasionally these ideas bleed through, like Malika (although her character was really just sucking up to Ryoma and Kaito all the time) or picrelated.
What we need is for somebody who knows that there's audience for this kind of thing to push for it. Sanjo/Sakamoto would probably be it! They gave us KyoryuViolet, who wasn't involved a lot, but when she was, she was great! And I mean... The irony of relying on Koichi Sakamoto to create a respectable superheroine in tokusatsu, but yeah.
