If I remember correctly from some possibly shady translation, Edison, if summoned as a servant on his own, actually is kind of weak. Its just that each generation of US presidents buffed him so he kind of ended up like that.

This is probably a large part of why Tesla never managed to sell anyone on the idea, making money off of it would have been a seriously uphill battle.
For a long time we actually thought that wireless power was a myth. Transmission of electricity through the air such that it could power machines without just frying everyone in the room? Nonsense, right?
Turns out not so much. We successfully replicated wireless power in 2007, and it turns out that it is based on alternating current and radio waves, both of which are things that Tesla invented. Unfortunately, don't get your hopes up about wireless energy any time soon. Modern computers were developed in an environment where wireless power did not exist, and the addition of wireless power sort of fucks with circuitboards something fierce as a kind of constantly low level emp scrambling effect. We can make computers that would be immune to this effect, but it would set back computer technology by 10 years making this changeover and cost all kinds of money.
It would be one thing if we always had wireless power, but switching to it now is basically impossible because of the infrastructure investment we already have.
