I swear I've seen that mangaka's art in some fujoshit yaoi manga someone spammed on /a/ a couple years back. I'm positive.
It makes some things move faster, but at the same time, all of the MSs are really freaking stiff, and in almost every panel except the splash pages, proportions are guaranteed to be wonky.
As for that cover art? Those are the BEST the faces look.

It uh, goes faster? Honestly it starts ok but the art and story telling get worse the futher you go into it. The artist also copy pasted the same drawing of Freedom floating in the air a couple times. And I think maybe they implied Athurn was also Kira and Cagalli's sibling in the manga? Not sure about that last bit.
I don't think I ever noticed how cock eyed Lacus was on that cover until now.

I don't know who did that manga adaptation, but I suppose it wouldn't be the first time they made the transition on a dramatic note that implied death (like the strike blowing up just after still showing the cockpit torn open or freedom implied to have been annihilated into bits and pieces)

I poked around where the images were posted.
There are two SEED manga adaptations. OP's one is drawn by Masatsugu Iwase.
The other one with Mwu doing his rope thing with the Mobius Zero comes from a two-volume adaptation with art done by one Takayama Mizuho. Surprisingly, Baka-Updates doesn't list his SEED work, but he has a few other UC works under his name as well. His SEED work was first serialized in Comic BonBon. He's also done a 4-volume adaptation of SEED Destiny.

I have that takayama mizuho manga. bought it for like, $1 on a used book fair like, on 2005 or smth. the adaptation was much better paced and the mecha drawing are rough but feels grittier than the other manga
takayama mizuho also made the destiny adaptation, it got bootlegged in my country but only the first tankobon were released. was quite good, the first act shows heine westenfluss piloting Guaiz experiment fighting morgan chevalier and it's glorious
