Syvil is hot, Basara is Kamina level hotblooded, action, when watched for the first time, is awesome and shooting speakers into faces of mecha is more nuts than holo shaeninagans of Delta.
I still like Frontier more, mostly because i find Sheryl best idoru of franchise amd Koenig Monster actually doing things.

Well, it is repetitive show with low budget animation for most part, story could have been told in half of episodes it ended doing anyway, Basara is crazy in the 'room with softly padded walls' way..but I still like it. It is my least liked Macross but it's still nice to watch.

Now look, there's a decent number of problems that 7 had, but if you think it had more stock footage than other mecha shows, your experience with mecha shows is nonexistent.
I dunno, I liked 7. It's not the best show out there, but there's worse things than it, and Encore, the "movie", and Dynamite were great.
