Because of the focus on Hibiki and Tsubasa's characters and growth, the relationship between Hibiki and Miku ("You are my sunshine" - does it get any better and sweeter than that?), the steady build-up from start to finish, the songs were good, and it had a great ending as well. I kind of liked the grim tone as well, and even though there were a lot of cop-outs, there weren't as many as G has had so far.

I don't hate it, I just disliked it because they're not being well-developed. More time is spent on the FIS cast and on fights than HibiMiku, or the old cast.
I can really only think of the Skytower date where the two spent any considerable amount of time together outside of an action scene, and even that led directly to an action scene. There's nothing really satisfying in terms of characters that have been well executed so far, I feel.
We don't get enough of a single character, and it feels like by expanding the cast, it's overextending itself trying to focus on too many characters and plotpoints but not bringing significant depth to any of it, which again to me feels like a move away from the very focused and character-driven first season.
I don't know, maybe I'm just retarded, but I'll go and finish it now anyway.
And if GX is more like G than the first season I think I'll probably not enjoy it as much, but I'll still watch it in case there's something that I do like about it.

I think by the end of the first season, the main cast were already pretty close to where they needed to get character-wise. There's not much development left to get out from them after that. This got especially clear by GX when the main three respectively got something minor, a retread and a frustratingly stupid plotline for character arcs.
