I tried GF once and it's literally the only show I've dropped because of the CGI it just looked bad and the way it blended with the mech designs were just terrible.
People who shitpost about how bad modern CGI is have no right to talk shit until they see that show.

- Future GPX Cyber Formula (plenty of episode + OAVs)
- Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01 (1 OAV)
- Gall Force (several movie, several series)
- Robot Jox (not anime but obscure as hell, meet Pacific Rim before PR)
- Starship Troopers (that's a anime, bet you didn't knew)
- Cyber City Oedo 808 (not really unknown but still rare)
- Armitage III (same as above, it got shadowed by GitS)
And the most obscure stuff ever :
- Mighty Space Miners
How obscure ? They stopped producing this gems of Hard-SF after 2 episodes
Also heard about a space mecha anime, was called "GunDamu" or something, bet no one actually watched an episode of it.

Kurogane Communication (it's apocalyptic slice of life with robot)
And you shall not ignore "Starship Operator" any longer. Some will say it's not obscure but it might as well be considering how few screenshot I have of it.
And if you want something more... sexy, got look for "Plastic Little", so beautifully animated that making an entire series of it would bankrupt country.

Man, that show went to such shit in the second half. I just wanted a series about a girl learning to ride motorcycle mechs and competing in races and competitions. Instead we got cartoonishly corrupt and evil government and police using lethal force on everyone and everyone becoming obsessed with the MC and seeing her as a potential super threat because she has some natural riding talent.
