It's intresting how Glemy's insurrection had some of the most badass tech during that conflict. The Doven Wolves were damned fine machine, and the Qubely Mass Production Types seemed to be as good, if not more well developed than the original or the Mk.II variant. Queen Mansa was a damned fine machine as well, kind of unfortunate it kept getting passed onto mentally unstable pilots who could not utilize it's true potential.

My own headcanon is that Glemmy got the backing of the old Zeon elites and aristos (those guys discussing stuff in Axis in 0083 and sieging Char in CCA) which is why he was able to amass all those resources, tech and troops so quickly. Haman probably sidelined them (after all, does Haman strike you as the type who's going to let a bunch of old fogies dictate to her?) so they decided to back Glemmy, since he's a military officer with some Zabi blood and most importantly, zero political experience, who can be used as an easily controlled figurehead.
He was a man of admirable tastes. Can anyone blame him for wanting his own idol unit, mass-produced Purus and spacenoid freedom?

I can confirm that it implies several things. There's a childless noble family on the verge of bankruptcy. After they adopt a young boy (Glemy), their fortunes immediately turn around and they have box seats at an opera house and plenty of other luxuries that they couldn't have afforded earlier. One of the characters points out just how strange it is.
