The episodes focused entirely on Cyborg actually tend to be pretty decent. (Just Cyborg, not Cyborg and Beast Boy, those are dA fetish tier.) It's like they assign different writers for different characters or something.

DC has been trying for years now to push Cyborg as one of the big boys and force him into J'onn's rightful place, so it's a bit odd that they're still running this sidekick team show with him in it. I guess it turns up enough profit to outweigh their agenda.

It's the weirdest fucking agenda, too, since they have John Stewart and J'onn (since a lot of times he picks a black guy as his human persona) that could fill those roles, and tons of other people if they want to dig into the C and D list.
Pushing Cyborg when he's already established as a Titan and the public knows him as a Titan and all alternate timelines and graphic novels to this day portray him as a Titan just seems bizarre.More importantly, nobody fucking likes it and the New 52 Cyborg is almost entirely devoid of personality except the precious few moments a closet fan of his gets to write a League story, or he hangs out with Billy.

Cyborg could be a really interesting character, but no one seems to want to write him to his full potential. He's a black superhero/former jock/tech genius. There's a TON to explore there. People are afraid to touch the third rail inherent in writing such a character well, but the payoff could be so great. How nice would it be to have a book that didn't dance around the issues of social expectations and race and acceptance and just hit them head on?

Not like the Justice League really needs a specialized tech guy when they have Batman, anyway. What has Cyborg been doing as a member, hacking computers? Building devices? Do people just pretend Batman can't do those things so he seems useful?
The classic JL lineup was deficient in magic, not in science. Should have gotten Zatanna or Dr. Fate or fucking Constantine instead. Ideally NOT in J'onn's place, because telepathy is useful as fuck and no one else can do it, but I can't deny his lack of marketability.
