Is Combattler V good? Does it have good subs at least?

Combattler is mostly retarded 70s generic robot. It has incredibly dumb monster designs, a rubbish second arc but a few nice character episodes.
Voltes and Daimos are top tier robot shows from the era with cute, if simple plots and fun characters.
I watched a bit of it,it was my first 70s anime, i got a good impression of what to expect.idk if it's just me but I liked the drunk professor and how they had to be in optimal conduction to combine. Also combattler yoyo best weapon.
