If a season 2 was happening it would be very odd to have a chunk of your staff leave. The only reasons I can think why this would be is if season 2 was planned for a few years later and keeping the staff in the long preproduction was a waste.
The other I see is for some unknown factor they felt the staff needed an overhaul, if so S2 could be a very different show. I sort of doubt this though as due to the nature of Gundam they can make a new AU when they feel like a large shift

Now, as for the series airing in America, that's going to be a whole different beast entirely. The matter is going to be how badly Bandai is going to push model kits on the audience.
They could go the SEED-route of editing the show so they could get a lower-content rating, allowing them to market the Gunpla to children without parents getting huffy (hopefully). After all, IBO is still a kids show in Japan.
Or they can go the 00 route and say fuck the Gunpla, leaving the show intact while marketing it towards an older audience while airing later in the night. VERS is a relatively recent Martian settlement that achieved independence through the advanced tech it found. Yeah, I think it's pretty safe to say Azee at least is very much dead. She also seems to always have been intended as fodder, since she never had much development beyond being the "cool, collected" pilot of the Raftel-Azee pilot pair. It makes me sad tho because I liked her design and would have liked to see more of her character, both before and after this.
Shino is probably still alive, tho we don't know for how long. Finally, Raftel is a more dubious case than Shino, but I'd say reasonable people could still have faith in her being alive. There's some room for that, still--even if not much, in my opinion.
Anyhoo, all Ein's rampage did was make me more angry at Mika. He should have been at the brunt of that assault but, of course and as fucking usual, plot armor protected our unfavorite, one-dimensional, invincible-autist-man.

I think there's room for everyone being alive, people seem to think Azee broke her neck but there really is no real indication of that (yes, you can bend your neck that much).
The fact that she lost a fair amount of blood from her head is concerning to say the least, but it's not a clear death.
Shino is at least going to have a few lines next ep, they estabilished Yamagi and Eco being really close and Ein coneniently tore the cockpit cover off so at least that is most likely happening.
As for Rafta, the fact that she violently spilled a moderate squirt of blood on the console (while still screaming) is all we know, she could be anything from tomato sauce to only slightly mangled in a leg/arm. I saw people saying that weird sound was her flesh/bones getting smashed but i think it's reasonable to assume her cockpit would've made more sound than her body.
Honestly i think it was more Guts' fault for storming off alone like, 5 seconds before Ein appeared, then again considering how unreasonably powerful Ein was, i doubt he'd have made a difference.
