I honestly think this is one of the few times they made the robot more of a symbol of peace rather than a cool thing that blows shit up.

I think it helps that most of the fights in Turn A are relatively low scale for the most part. I mean, the biggest thing to happen in one episode is how he uses a tree and attacks a enemy when he isn't looking.

In the ACE games, if you leave the Turn A idle for a few seconds, it does this.
Walker Machines are techincally civil machinery that comes with weaponry mainly due to Zola's lawless nature. The Xabungle, Gallia, and probably Blockary are the exceptions of course.
You see various WMs hauling things, the Iron Gear's TRAD 11s occasionally helping, and a single other WM with six arms (Gasshiri?) I remember being used to help repair the busted up Iron Gear.
You also get stuff like the Sendvead being used for mining.
I never understood how WMs like the Promeus was meant to be used for excavation.
