For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, dont make the new people worry!

Pretty solid MG with lots of leftover parts if you're into customs, enough to make a sickdark red and black Edgia.
Only problem is the weak ass ankles, a trait inherent of the original MG Exia and it's kinda back heavy, action base pretty much compulsory.
If you have extra dosh, you might want to consider the P Bandai Amazing Exia as it comes with the meijin custom GN shield.

Weren't any surprises or much that was even new designs. More Revives (Gouf, Gyan, Impulse), more Origin (Zaku 1 and YMS-03), and more IBO (Graze Ein). The new RE/100 is the Efreet Kai. New MG is Freedom 2.0.

See, this is more how I thought the series was gonna play out. Some bigger crazier changes in the Barbatos design based on each combat it enters.

I think this is about it for the cockpit detail. Its not 100% accurate and more cramped than in the show but I'm happy with it. I added some hydraulic support in front of the neck area as well.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I suggest a spray can since you're going to get 90% of the kit that way and it'll be done way quicker. I've never been able to get a marker to not streak over a large piece either.

Yes but it's somewhat hard to describe.
The Clear Color ontop of a silver base right onto a clear piece will reflect light to give the traditional candy color effect. You'll get a quasi mirror effect, unless you go chrome and then it'll be a straight up mirror effect.
But the Clear Color ontop of the clear piece with silver paint backing it will give a sort of light captured-ish effect. There's a illusion of depth with light having to pass through the clear piece, bounce off the silver backing then right back out through the clear piece and clear layer.
I like to do this with eyes as it gives it that extra bit of depth.
Should I go 1/100 or 1/144 for IBO plamo? Besides the nice weapon sets what MS designs am I gonna miss out on if I go the NG route?

Type 6 comes with the mace and parts to make the original so there's no reason not to get that one probably. Personally I prefer the 1/100 in general because they look better imo, but they are more flimsy than the 1/144. Plus, the proportions look a little better on the 1/144 but that's just me. I guess just get whatever you want

I don't like the IBO 1/100 line. I don't like how cheap they look. They somehow make the HG series look better, and if they were trying to get MG tier quality for less money, I think they failed.

The 1/100 line have nicer inner frames and more surface detail as well as doing certain gimmicks like the graze eye and barbatos spike mace better.
However the hg line has more variety and the weapon option sets. The mobile workers are also 1/144 only.
The 1/100 line only has barbatos, graze, schwalbe, the two gusions in one kit, kimaris, barbatos form 6, and grimgerde. Meanwhile the hg line is only missing the spinner rodi.

Clipped the inner grey peg part on the original backpack a little bit on both sides, filed down half of a 3mm peg made of clipped sprue until it fit into the hole, then stuck the ezsr boosters right onto the peg. The whole thing took maybe 10 minutes to do.
I asked this before but got no answer.
Are these worthwhile? I want my Zaku and eventually Gouf to look damaged or should I take more traditional approaches like normal painting?

Yea, you kinda did. I feel there'd be a lot more contrast in colors, too. You seemed to just plaster the blackness all over in random strokes, but if you look at battle damage on tanks, or what bullet holes look like on panels and sheet metal, you'll realize there's a lot more color difference around the impact areas.I went too overboard on my first battle damaged kit, and I'm just trying to lend a hand

Aren't they also missing the Ground Graze, or is that confirmed to be a P-Bandai release? It's more fitting of a P-Bandai release than the Ares/Space Graze, since the Ground Graze actually comes with slightly different parts in a different paint scheme that doesn't necessitate a proper release on its own, instead of just being a pure recolor like the Ares.

I think ghost of zeon had a vid where he explains c joints. You paint shit separarely as a single piece, then cut the Os where pegs fit into C shapes, so you can squeeze the peg into it. Should work but I've never tried it. It'll be my first time air brushing a gunpla kit soon, and the first time I've done a kit in general in 4 years

I just realized that my Kotobukiya's zoid kits have their runner made in China. Does this explains the shittier plastic quality and should i buy bootlegs if i want to a cheaper price?

Purple bits look okay, but it's hard to tell exactly with how blurry the picture is. Are you holding the camera while taking pictures or setting it against a firm, flat, surface(or on tripod if you have one)? The steadier the cam, the better the lens retains light, the sharper the image turns out and all that cool jazz.

Im partially through that. Just got done painting everything, now im waiting on my lining pens to come in before I sply the finish on. Looks like i'm going to be watching tutorial videos on you-tube and rereading the gunpla guide I failed miserably at my first attempt at hand painting a single gyan knee plate. Paint wont stick to the plastic at all.

Should i just buy some low quality kits to practice on before I try to paint my Gyan.
I think it was lack of primer also I didnt wash the parts I shook the paint a bunch but ya now I have to wait so I can buy primer god I'm useless.

Gunpra's a BIT too large to really do any tabletop RPing with. Your balls standard 1/144 is a little taller than a soda can.
And yeah, there's all sorts of customization options out there now. That's what Gundam Build Fighters was all aboot, really.

although i like the exia dark matter design better, strike freedom fbm is a more solid kit that has those wing effect parts and electroplated gold parts. the exia frame did not age well and is pretty loose overall (unless you paint/tighten the joints)

I actually finished the Epyon! I'm glad I started with the cheap shit. Getting used to plastic stress is difficult.
It's been at least 10 years since I worked on one of these, and in between then and now I've done over 3k points of Warhammer kitbashing. The type of plastic between the two is really different - this bandai shit is really soft.
Not to mention I'm in a fucking hotel room and don't have any of my tools. Had to buy clippers and an exacto at the hobby store.I already found what I want to tackle for a MG, and $50 for one on amazon seems really cheap for what you get. is this what it's like to not have a model company hate you?
