No, Vortex Blaster explicitly killed Azathoth.
It's why Mugen made the universe in DYN Freaks in the first place, so that she could have Azathoth be reborn.
Azathoth doesn't "reside within" Azana. Azana IS Azathoth.

Even within Lovecraft's own mythology, Azathoth and his court could still be physically reached, so interaction with him isn't an impossibility.

Yes, but in this case the creation surpassed the creator. Azathoth produces the Azathoth Particle that makes up the world, but that's it. Meanwhile Vortex Blaster is stuck getting stronger and stronger, with Azathoth's dream acting as an incubation chamber of sorts for it until it outgrew the whole thing.
