ITT: Entry level /m/echa
I know you like shitposting about Getter but this time it doesn't even make sense dude
Pic related. Top wo Narae knockoff essentially
>>14008783
fucking superfags and their persecution complex
Entry level? It's exactly what made me turn off mecha
>>14008774
all mecha is entry level
>>14008866
No one ever let me in
>>14008811
Tell us more about that old tennis anime you never watched.
>>14008900
pathetic
>>14008811
>Top wo Nerae is a Top wo Nerae knockoff
>>14008914
this
you were so close OPnot really

>people will fall for this despite the fact that he can't even name the anime right
I'd say Code Geass or Gurren Lagann are more legitimate examples of entry-level mecha.
I mean, it's all entry level to someone. Every show is someone's first show.
>>14008930
we got three out of four anons realizing that though

> Getter Robo Go
> An even more obscure comic in an obscure media franchise
> The comic where the usually herioc force of the story turns out to essentially wants to start Buddhist-themed universal scale instrumentality.
> "THE GETTER IS EATING IT!"
> Entry-level
In fact, can we just have a Getter Robo Go thread? It really is an interesting comic.
>>14008974
Finale was GOAT. I also really liked the military shit.
>>14009216
I was actually pretty disappointed when they stopped using Getter Go. I grew fond of the thing over the course of the story.
The sudden shift in to outright cosmic horror was a surprise, to. Really, the whole thing turned my perception of the Getter Robo story I got from /m/ on its head.
When I was reading /m/ Getter threads, there were next to no mentions of Ryouma being terrified of the Getter...
>>14009295
That's because most people have only seen the OVAs and not bothered with the Saga. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that mind you, but that's pretty much the reason why, since people rarely remember the times Ryoma was scared by Getter in the OVAs.
>>14009295
Yeah, Go was awesome. I even caved in and bought the toy of him in your pic, it's fittingly good.
And the cosmic horror stuff sometimes gets discussed on /m/, but sadly it's mostly only for power level BS.
>>14009358
That's kind of a shame, really. To me, the Saga is Getter at it's finest. In a way, it kind of reminds me of my feelings about Devilman, it's crude yet refined, and does some pretty interesting things with the story it tells.
It really puts the main cast and the audience in a weird position, where the hotblooded excitement and screaming that some seem to love the series for is directly linked with this horrible thing.
Kind of hard to get all hyped for Getter crushing bad guys when it's reducing it's pilots to gibbering messes and causing aliens to go back in time to make heroic last stands to ensure the Getter doesn't eat all of it's universe.
>>14009216
Finale was grand, yeah, but I have to say that if they'd not gone for a Dinosaur Empire link and just had Rando die in the Dragon Turtle for the end of the War of the Super Robots I would've been satisfied.
That portion of the story just makes a fantastic standalone super robot thing, with all the crazy and silly shit, with just enough of a military conflict air to it to add to the atmosphere.
>>14009482
Also I opened the mango to get some pictures of the Stilva this afternoon and ended up reading the entire thing since the Go gets rekt in Alaska. Still one of the best mecha anything.
>>14009544
Speaking of which, Stellbomber did not get nearly enough screentime
>>14009551
Like many others, it owes its misfortune to Shin Getter. Once that was introduced the bits where they made the other robots look good pretty much flew out the window. The funny thing is that it still had a pretty solid impact in an arc designed around hyping Shin Getter at the cost of all other robots, helping to destroy the Dinosaur Empire's sub boss and all.
>>14009551
I think it got a plenty good amount for what it had to do.
>>14009573
None of that is bad, admittedly.
>>14009597
No, just how things went. Also I didn't like Stellbomber as much as Stilva. The head feels more generic and the flat wings serving as its arms don't really work for me given the rest of the body. Would've loved to see the wings fold over the back like a sort of cape while the robot mode gets beefy arms to go along with the rest of the design. I do like that it has a faceplate/grate, however, I've never liked mecha with obviously human faces.
How does the chronology of the Getter mangas work? What does Go come after?
>>14009795
15 years after the Saotome labs imploded
70s is the first war against dinosaurs/hyakki
80s is when the first aliens break through time and everyone dies
90s is the second war against the dinosaurs
and after that in the 2000s is when the zone appears and Hayato fortifies the lab/completes Arc
>>14009747
Stellbomber is GOAT but didn't much page time because the story was ending.
>I've never liked mecha with obviously human faces.
>Stilva has a more human face than Stellbomber
????
>tfw you realize that the Dinosaur Empire tried to wipe out human life by inducing artificial climate change by pumping out emissions of greenhouse gases
Getter Robo isn't fiction, reptillians are trying to do this to Earth literally right now
>>14009939
Forget the blue and red pills, time to swallow the green pill.
>tfw I might be the only one on /m/ to have seen Ace wo Nerae before Gunbuster
Granted, it was dubbed in Italian and called Jenny la Tennista, but all of Dezaki's work is really worth a watch
>>14009986
>all of Dezaki's work is really worth a watch
Not his horrible Clannad and Air movies
>>14010003
sorry, all his "classics"
>>14009939
>>14009949
Somebody phone /int/ and /pol/ in on this
>>14009849
Please learn to read. I said the one thing I really like about the Stellbomber over the Stilva is its faceplate/grate thing.
>>14011407
>I do like that it has a faceplate/grate, however, I've never liked mecha with obviously human faces.
Don't blame others for your shitty sentence construction, m8.
