It's a very short show. It's entertaining. It's fun to watch.
Does an anime need to be anything else?
I don't particularly look forward to it every week, and I don't think about it after watching each episode at all.
The only times Galko has ever been on my mind was when it was announced and I thought "Hey, that looks fun, I'd watch that" and this thread now. I don't have a waifu at all anymore, I outgrew that kind of stuff. I don't browse /a/ and discuss it there. I don't discuss any of the ~26 airing shows I watch anywhere, except IBO and sometimes Garo, but only because they're /m/.
I think somewhere along the line you must have gone astray. You don't need to be 100% invested in every show you watch. You don't need to have some sort of stake in it, like a waifu, or dedication to a franchise. You are allowed to watch things if you just enjoy them.

Well Gainex hasn't been doing much lately other then minor Visuals work sadly. I think most of the talent went to Trigger and Anno is off somewhere doing his own thing while the rebuilds are made by a different studio. Why did they split anyways? Management problems? How is Gainex and trigger with management?
I can't really complain since episodes are so short that they end before they overstay their welcome.
