Well now that it's fully subbed what did /m/ think of Gyrozetter?

It was fun. I honestly can't say much more than that. It's entertaining to watch but not amazing, a good old-fashioned super robot show.
Also Touma is both the most entertaining and the most inconsistent character. They keep trying to have him as a major threat in "plot" episodes but he's a goofy dude that probably doesn't even qualify as evil for the other 90% of the show.

It was an enjoyable show with lovable characters and a fantastic OST. Mech design was a hit and miss with the Xenon side getting the brunt of the bad design, Xenon's side didn't seem that evil when it came down to it, especially Toma, the future segment should have maybe been a bit longer instead of shifting it to the 3DS game, and the Erasers felt like comedy relief more than an actual threat, though the few times they sent out the old man things suddenly got super real.

Would definitely recommend anyone who enjoyed the show to check out the 3DS game, it's an RPG that has you catching Gyrozetters, doing turn based battles, and driving around to the great OST of the show(Though it has the hype music on repeat on the overworld at times for whatever reason). While it may not be translated it easily tells you what to do without any Japanese knowledge and it ends up being quite fun. Picture related.

If you do know Japanese it takes place during the future episodes and fleshes it out.

Was it really that inconsistent, though? Even in most of those episodes, he was still his usual goofy self. He was really only threatening in those instances because he happened to have a good machine, as opposed to the useless shit he drove in most episodes.

Fight is just too stiff for me to get excited.

If anything they felt short rather than stiff for me. They'd get into a fight and then maybe half a minute later after all the transformations and call outs the battle is over. At least the finishers were top notch though, Kakeru got some fantastic ones when paired with the music.

Oh, and I hope no one minds if I dump a couple webms here, I forgot to finish the last 5 or so episodes so if I see anything I'll throw them here since I missed all the release threads.

I liked it.

The main issue with the action is that they clearly didn't have enough budget for damaged models, resulting in some goofy stuff like attacks mostly pushing back the robots but somehow that leaves them immobile on the ground... until the final episodes when everything starts getting completely destroyed in one hit.

The actual finishers were cool though, and I thought the battles in general improved later when they stopped trying to include everyone in every battle, only to make most of them get taken out very quickly without doing anything.

Okay, I take the Touma bit back, he's a nutter come the final three episodes. Since he also takes the name Gedo it's also reminding me of the absolutely insane one from the game as well.

Gyrozetter had so many top tier girls.

Haruka was the Best, though

Really? Can you refresh my memory? I remember Nirvash being a two seater and Renton/Eureka piloting it together.

It's funny that you're posting that, because both shows are directed by the same guy. If Gyrozetter wasn't based on a game, I bet Kakeru would have looked like the rest of Takamatsu's protags.
