Man, ghost might be rough around the edges, but damn if it isn't trying. The story is moving at a nice pace and the ganma have turned out to be a really interesting villain. I like how they have started to give more identity to the MotW.

Pretty god damn sure Adel is the one who offs their father and is framing Alain, forcing Necrom to become a good guy to dethrone his corrupt, backstabbing brother. Which is actually 1000 times more interesting than anything Drive accomplished with its villains. Ghost's plot threads are really very good, and fuck anyone who still thinks otherwise.

The first batch of episodes seems to have been the premise the production committee wanted to emphasize the toy advertising aspects (such as gathering the eyecons). I think a lot of the new stuff since probably the intro of Javier and the death of Saionji is probably what the writer himself is doing.

The stuff they did with Heart at the end I thought was very good, so was the way Banno was offed without anyone arguing against murdering the bastard. For that matter I thought the whole section with Nira and Brain working together was pretty brilliant.
That said, yeah, the Ganma have turned into fucking great villains. Pretty much everything we've seen about them these past dozen episodes has made them more and more fun to watch.

I just mean the concept, organization, and goal of the Roidmudes. It always seemed really obvious to me that their endgame was very poorly planned out from the start, and it sort of felt like the writers were making everything up as they went.Now that I think about it, W sorta felt the same way. Seems like a Sanjo thing.They had charm through character traits, but as a villainous force with a plan to be afraid of, they were pretty awful.
Which sort of sums up Drive for me, really. The characters, and sometimes the action were pretty fun, but the basis of the plot was mostly bullshit.

They're doing a screwjob story. Alain's going to turn face because he has to ally with Takeru and Makoto to help prove his innocence, which is a really fucking cool way to do it because it means he's still an asshole, just one who has to be on the side of the heroes sometimes.

It was pretty obviously planned, since shots from the last episode are in the first intro, but the foreshadowing wasn't always the best. I think if they'd done more in the second quarter to build on the plot there instead of faffing around with Medic's schemes, it would have done more to unify the whole thing. Once Type Formula and Freeze were in play it started getting more clear what they were after and the show metaphorically got in gear.

Oh yeah. I have no doubt they had outline, it just FELT really poorly planned, which made the villains lack credibility for me. Although even when their motives were more clear, they still weren't very solid ones. Drive just wasn't very strong narratively. It'sarguablestrength as a series came from elsewhere.

I think he leans more to be a mini-boss maybe lasting until Mugen considering his suit. He's got a nice Ganma form and this suit is getting some upgrade in the Legend Rider episodes iirc where it's also used.

All of that is completely subjective, man.
He's not amazingly likable or anything, but I'm enjoying Takeru for what he's worth. Especially since the guy is actually learning from from Great Souls and his own mistakes, while staying remarkably positive for a dead guy with a time limit as he legitimately tries to wrap his head around a way to solve everyone's problems despite how helplessly uninformed he is about everything involved. The learning curve and his potential character growth is what's interesting to me.
And for the record, I think the toy jingles are pretty damn fun.
If Alain has to prove his innocence, who the fuck does he have to prove it to? We haven't really seen anything of Ganma society, and it seems all very dictatorshippy at the moment. I think he'll just want revenge on Adel after seeing his dad get his teeth kicked in, picking up some emotions in Alain and making him think "Being a shite wee human isn't bad after all."

I think the debacle will be less about "proving Alain innocent" and more about simply dividing the royalty in half. All the other notable Ganma around at the moment (including Igor) seem to have ulterior motives or thoughts to all this so it'd be weird if all there was to Alia was wanting be an ara ara oneesan to Kanon & Makoto. At the same time it wouldn't surprise me if that's all she ends up being, I guess.

It shows which rider/eyecon combination was planned pre-production. Everything else that's a one-off or thought up during the run is cobbled together with some compromise.

Only major bad thing about the show is the jobbing. Powerups have no weight, meaning, or consistency after their initial appearance. Specter is also weak a lot of the time.
I mean it's somewhat common for Rider and Sentai and even other works of fiction, but it really stands out in Ghost.
