The Scimitar was the dumbest spaceship I've ever seen. It's supposed to be a mining ship or something, but just in case the audience are all idiots and need to have it spelled out to them who the bad guys are, it just happens to be built entirely out of giant, black swords for absolutely no reason. And the bridge is all polished, black platforms over a bottomless hole. With no railings, of course. So dumb.

It would've been slightly better if they decided if they wanted a tragic villain we sympathize with, or a living cartoon who would tie Vulcan to train tracks if he could. Because they try to do both at the same time, and it's really not working at all.
