Have you ever tried to watch Jean-Luc Godard films while high? It's like someone is actively trying to harsh your mellow.
Also, most melodramatic shows are stressful and hard to enjoy while high. I wouldn't recommend anything where the main characters cry or whine a lot. Namely most AU Gundam shows, Bokurano, Code Geass, etc.

I dunno about that. Everyone is different, reacts a little differently. I had a friend who had an existential meltdown while watching End of Eva stoned. He also became a mess during the Robocop remake. Poor guy. Just seemed like he could never handle it. I shudder to think what would happen if he tried shrooms or LSD.
I on the other hand find a lot of movies much better stoned. Actually made it through Unicorn Episode 7 that way.

I would be able to believe this if the person was drunk but being high for me just makes me focus on the show a lot more intently which sets off a chain of eyerolling, nitpicking and generally not wanting to watch a show if it seems too stupid in either execution, plot structure or portrayal of characters.
Then again they do say it affects everyone differently.
