I can't honestly imagine something like that being useful for much beyond deterring criminal activity in its immediate area. It would rely heavily on a human security guard being able to immediately arrive in the area to take further action.
For starters, it doesn't look like it can easily navigate terrain that isn't flat. That means it's limited to patrolling sidewalks, parking lots, malls, and golf courses. ATLAS and PETMAN this thing ain't.
It could record video and images to use as evidence and help police track down escaped criminals better, but how would it recognize crime beyond being under the direct control of a human? In an open-terrain area where anything from littering to punching a guy could constitute a crime, how would it know how and when to alert its human master that something is going on? How would it differentiate an adult beating the shit out of a guy to steal his wallet, from two kids mock fighting while walking back to their parents' car after watching a movie?
Overall this thing is probably okay for extended security in high-grade areas, but it's probably far cheaper to just hire another schmuck from a private security company to walk patrols.

They apparently weigh 300 pounds, have 360 degree vision, and have facial recognition software. It might get vandalized but it would probably report the person doing it or set off an alarm if they tried.
