They probably died.

Miharu was too good to go back to Zeon scum.

>>13948093
IIRC they were sent to a war orphans' home in a manga.
>>
In The Origin at least Sayla takes care of them, along with the thousands of other orphans of the One Year War.
>>
I wonder if the Troubles still have their mark on Ireland/Norn Iron in UC 0079.
>>
>>13948124
That's dumb. They already established the Feds have daycare facilities for war orphans, those kids probably got scooped up by the Feds in Ireland after the Zeon attack and, if they survived, they went back later and got all the money that was left there.

Reminder that Ireland got killed in ZZ, those kids are as good as dead now.

Why not ? They're still having terrorist problems around 2300 AD in Gundam 00.

One thing that Gundam gets consistently wrong is the physical effects of colony drops. Where the fuck are the giant shockwaves ? The shockwaves themeselves should already flatten pretty much a good portion of what's on the surface way before the colony impacts the ground.
Even Macross god dammit managed to get it right in first episode of the tv series. And it was only a spaceship smaller than a space colony.
>>
>>13948337
Just let minor things like that go.
>>
>>13948344
>colony drop
>minor
>>
>>13948347
No I mean minor physics details. It doesn't matter; the point is that a colony drop is devastating. That's it.
>>
>>13948146
Gundam needs more Fenians desu
>>
>>13948354

that's actually kind of a big deal. A simple impact wouldn't do near the damage they show
>>
>>13948337
the dublin drop wasn't going anywhere near as fast as the Macross, or even Iffish.
While Iffish was routed around the moon to use the gravity-slingshot-effect to increase its speed, the one in ZZ was just dropped straight from orbit. They never even showed any thrusters attached to it.

If I had to guess, the EF probably only agreed to let Haman squish Dublin under controlled circumstances unlike the "as hard as we can" Iffish drop.

The Space Shuttle doesn't use boosters to reenter the atomosphere. And it still goes over Mach 25 in the upper atmosphere. A colony is several kilometers long and 1 kilometer wide. It's going to reenter fucking fast with or without boosters. And the shochwave is going to be tremendous (just look at what the sonic boom of the puny little asteroid in russia did a couple of years ago). In 0083 didn't we see the final effect of the colony drop on Australia ? A crater several hundred kilometers wide. That kind of devastation doesn't just come from the impact.
>>
>>13948337
Consider that colonies are mostly hollow and I would guess made of structurally lightweight materials
>>
>>13948847
Shit got fucked up bad, and they did a good enough job of showing it

doesn't one of the games allege that they ended up in the Murasame Labs in the line that Four was a part of?
>>
>>13949617
I've heard that the brother ends up in the Murasame labs afterwards, idk about the sister. Shame someone feels the need to make everything connected like that but it's fiction so whatever
>>
>>13949689
Pretty sure it was a manga or novel side story and both are enrolled. Doesn't matter though because it's less canon than Origin.

This
Her Death is the only one that makes Tomino's "war is bad mmmkay" bullshit actually work.
Ryu dies pulling a deus ex machina out of his ass so it's hard to feel any real sorrow, Sleggar is deathflagged so hard it's too obvious, and Lalah dies because she chooses to fight for no discernable reason.
>>
>>13952417

Miharu's death is way more retarded than the ones you mentioned because the Gunperry was designed explicitly to kill anyone who did what she did, not because of any genuine tragedy of war.
>>
>>13952417
>she chooses to fight for no discernable reason.
She has a perfect reason. She's a soldier, who must act as the superior says
>>
>>13952437
>Engineer's Log - 12 Nov 0079
>Our team has finally gotten around to reading soldier's complaints about the Gunperry. A tragic flaw has been discovered, perhaps a little later than we would have liked. A problem with the bomb release has been noted to require manual activation, which has revealed a design flaw. Manual activation is not safe and has a fatality rate of 96%. Apparently crews have been carrying four or five extra "bomb boys", their name for disposable recruits, in case the issue arises. The stress on manpower was significant and the issue has caused over 873 reported deaths and 40 reported injuries. However, now that we have this knowledge, he can strive to fix the Gunperry. With luck, we will have it fixed by the summer of 0082.

The childen are looked after by Sayla's foundation for war orphans, she tells Kai so in a Sidestory.

No it wasn't, Kai even mentions to her that she has to do it the right way, and because he's in the middle of the fight it doesn't occur to him that she has no idea what she's doing. She only fallls because she lets go and jumps in celebration right as Kai begins to turn the Gumperry.

>the final effect of the colony drop on Australia
Again, the Iffish drop was *ACCELERATED*, it was not in free-fall, it was accelerated to RAMMING SPEED by nuclear thrusters and a slingshot trip around the moon.

For all we know, the Dublin drop may have been artificially decelerated. But even if you don't choose to assume that, Iffish was still falling MUCH faster than either Operation Stardust or the Dublin drop. It is NOT indicative of the effect of a free-fall descent. There is absolutely no reason to expect Stardust or Dublin to have similar effects to it.

Kai has to live with the love of his life dying and being one of the few survivors from White Base. This is his albatross. This is his penance.
>>
>Kai and Job John are the only surviving Mobile Suit pilots from White Base

>>13948337
All the named characters were in that scene so the plot armor slowed it's descent in the atmosphere
Meanwhile Operation British caused Australia to just dissapear from the map and flooded all the asian countries around it

assembled in space. no need for light weight material consideration . just ability to control its mass. besides those o neill cylinders were almost 10 miles long and a couple miles in dia. thats a lot of metal to fall on your head regardless

>The Space Shuttle doesn't use boosters to reenter the atomosphere. And it still goes over Mach 25 in the upper atmosphere.

The space shuttle also isn't in a stationary orbit at a lagrange point. It has to rotate quickly around the Earth in order to stay in orbit, which is why it goes so fast during reentry.

didn't the boy become Zero Murasame or something?
