Hey there guys, have any of you heard of this isometric mecha shooter being developed called Antraxx?
They have a really cool Mechwarrior/Battletech aesthetic going on for them.

I've been in contact with these guys for a while and am really hyped to see what they're doing.
I figured some of you guys might be interested too, there's always a shortage of good mecha games.

At first I thought it would be Front Mission + Battletech, then I read it's just a simple arcade shooter. On top of that it'll be browser-based. Can't say I'm excited about it, but best of luck.

What makes 3D objectively better than 2D?
The artist mostly likely chose this style because well, it's what they wanted to make.
They obviously wanted to make a game in 2D, I doubt they were forced to have to work in 2D.

But there's bad 3D, and there's bad 2D.
One looks like a school project while the other's pretentious "retro" hipster shit.
At least with 3D you have more options regarding gameplay/mechanics which is not limited to two dimensional plane, unless you're going to pull some Wolf3D/Doom/Build engine stuff which looks even worse than either.

Some people have become so vehement in their hatred of shitty lazy indie games that they now hate all indie or somewhat indie-ish games. Simple concepts, pixel art (no matter the quality), cartoony art styles, all of them pop these guys' rage boners like a bottle of Mexican Viagra.
