>Koutetsu Jeeg gets a live action adaptation by the dagos, with a twist.

"Gabriele Mainetti’s thoroughly enjoyable, surprisingly plangent and gritty “They Call Me Jeeg” features a two-bit criminal loser who stumbles upon his powers, Toxic Avenger-style (without the deformity), and learns to care about humanity thanks to a traumatized woman who’s convinced he’s the Japanese manga character Steel Jeeg."

>it's real
>it's coming out this month
What the fuck

How come none of the spics bothered to tell us about this?
>>
>>13833476
Got a trailer
>>
>>13833521
Because /m/ don't care about Jeeg here the fact that he's one of the coolest giant robot out there.

Instead, they'd rather whine about how bad recent Gundam is.

Also, italy = dago. spain/mexico = spic.

Not the same thing.

I love it

I fucking LOVE it
>>
Someone actually reviewed it. I still can't say if it's worth a watch or not. I don't even know if it will get subs.

>>
>>13833476
So does it have anything to actually do with Jeeg, or is it just being used as a coat rack to hang an unrelated movie on?
>>
>>13833521
They did. We had a ton of threads about this earlier.
>>
>>13833521

They did. There was a thread several months back saying it if I recall. There was no trailer around then though.

>>13833565

He seems to just have rather generic strength powers or something in the trailer and I very much doubt he "stumbles" on to powers remotely similar to Jeeg, given that the poster suggests he's wearing a costume rather than being a cyborg or capable of transforming in to part of a giant robot. He might have electromagnet powers though I guess. Trailer doesn't seem to suggest so though. I think Jeeg is just being used in the film as a hero he can aspire to, rather than him being it.

This is literally the only thread in the archives and it had less posts than this one

Sounds like the Jushin Liger movie deal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jushin_Thunder_Liger:_Fist_of_Thunder), then. Might be cool.

>>13833536
That, and Nanto hasn't made any progress on the original show in ages.
>>
Well this is new.

>>13833618
Now he can aspire to be a guy who turns into a head and cries a lot about being a cyborg!
>>
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I don't think the guy has any kind of power related to Jeeg, they probably picked that name because Jeeg was a big image among Italians two generations ago.
I can see them playing it as a kind of icon if the girl is delusional and thinks the guy is a superhero.

Anyway the trailer is cool, at least it doesn't spoil the whole movie like many others.
>>
>>13833536
On /m/ Italian = Spic
Get used to it

>>13833476
Sounds interesting. Mite be worth a watch.

Remenber when trailers explained what the movies were about, instead of mysterious shots fading to black.

It kind of happens when your childhood was filled with Go Nagai bots (with the help of Daitarn III and Combattler/Voltes V), Fist of the North Star, and Saint Seya
>>
>>13834297

Not to mention a unhautorized dubbed version of Mobile Suit Gundam in 1980.
>>
>>13833837
this.
Exactly this.

That's why the dagos didn't bother to spam it here, it's not actually /m/-related.

I sure hope to find Japanese reviews, out of curioisty

How the fuck does that even happen?

Italy

Italy. These are the same people who order waste disposal services from the mafia to save money, and wake up to see their streets turned into dumps.

I mean, did Sunrise lend them preview tapes of Gundam after Zambot and Daitarn were well received over there and when they asked for them back the Italian broadcasters told them they were lost in the mail and just dubbed it anyway? How exactly do you steal an entire show back in the pre-digital era? The fact that it was undiscovered for so long I have no problems believing, Go Nagai didn't find put how popular his robot shows were in Europe, Latin America and the Arab nations after decades of Toei cashing those fat checks.
>>
>>13834446
Sunrise&co didn't talk directly with the European networks back then.
There were a number of intermediaries.
>>
>>13834349
>unhautorized dubbed version
We had tons of them in Russia in 90s. My local cable TV used to show all the pirated content they could get.
>>
>>13834453

Exactly. Apparently the network (called TMC) simply went ahead and dubbed leaked material with the intention of acquiring the rights later. Judging by the timing (they started the broadcast even before the original MSG run in Japan was over) they were expecting to pay a relatively cheap price. However after the success of the reruns the price of MSG skyrocketed and the plan failed. TMC stopped the broadcast but the dubbed version fell in the hands of smaller local networks. At this point Sunrise became aware of the situation and demanded the destruction of the dubbed version and all related materials.
>>
subs when?
>>
>>13833521
Because morons like you spamming LE SPIC XD has made anything remotely related to Nagai fucking impossible to discuss on this site anymore.

It's not a shitpost and you should feel ashamed for what you're doing right now. Mussolini didn't team up with Hitler so fags like you can shitpost actual ontopic threads into oblivion.

Yeah keep memeing at my bud that's really helping you out. Throw a few more racially insensitive slurs while you're at it to further derail what was a great thread.

The Jeeg manga and 70s anime aren't subbed, are they? Kotetsushin Jeeg was great, and I'd like to see the older stuff

Berlusconi running a tv channel, that's how.

Actually, it wasn't Berlusconi's channel.

It was Tele MonteCarlo, which was technically NOT an Italian network being based and transmitting from Monaco.
