Is Pic-related great couple or greatest couple? And do they get more screen time in SEED Destiny? /m/ goes on and on about how shit SEED D is and this is the only thing I ended up caring about in SEED.

Dearka and Mirallia break up, Athrun breaks up with Cagalli and gets a new Coordinator girlfriend. Everything about how Naturals and Coordinators could be together was wrong, the only way to find happiness is to stick to your own kind.

It shouldn't have been. Dude, this piece of garbage is NOT worth your time. If it had been a stupid 6-episode OVA, okay. You can waste your time in something that short.
But this is a full-fledged 50 episode series. 18 hours long. Add Destiny and you have a day and a half.

The fact the writing went exactly in that direction is what pissed me off the most about Destiny.

Destiny, though, is on a whole other level. You really could get one season out of that without even cutting anything of note, there's so much fucking nothing in it.

I honestly don't know if that would've been the case. I mean, Cross Ange is pretty stupid, and that was 26 episodes long. But at least Cross Ange is enjoyable in its stupidity. Can't say the same about SEED. I'm sure Fukuda tried to do "his thing", at the same time he had the mission to Remake Mobile Suit Gundam.

SEED was mostly harmless. Childish and naive but ultimately harmless fluff. But then it's like Destiny goes out of it's way to forever taint SEED. You'll never be able to watch it the same way after Destiny butchered it's stories and characters. Like, try feeling the same for Mu's sacrifice after seeing Destiny, or investing in Dearka/Milli.
One of the things that disappointed me the most of SEED was Le Creuset's motivation.
That they went with the edgy misanthrope villain felt very cheap and this is made worse since the Coordinator and Natural's leaders are not that far from him and Kira's motive isn't a wonder either.
It seems like SEED lacked complex characters. Personally I found Athrun, Yzek and Dearka the best in this regard but even then they weren't that relevant.
