This is my first attempt at making anything in the Lego Digital Designer program. I sort of mixed different styles with a pseudo-MechWarrior design and a decidedly Gundam-esque color scheme. Overall, this took around 3 or 4 hours to complete, a good portion of which was dedicated to searching for the right goddamn piece in the program's part catalog. Overall, I'm glad it's finished (so I can go on to other projects), but I think it's kind of ugly. Nonetheless it's a finished product, so here you go. Posting more pictures of specific parts of the mech soon.
The part of this design I'm most proud of is the foot design. They were the first part of the mech to be designed, in a test save I have for trying out different things without clogging the build-space. They were later pasted into the file for the AB mech when it came time to design the lower half of the body.
I started the build with the missile pods. Ultimately bearing a pathetic load of just 4 missiles, I had to compensate for the size of the hatch doors when designing the missiles. These were the first things made in the file for the mech, the rest was designed around these. (The cockpit does hold a pilot, if you were wondering)
After I finished the upper body, I spent a while trying to figure out how to attach the feet I had built. I came up with this design hastily as my buddy I was in a Skype call with beckoned me to play League of Legends with him. The hip joints are facilitated with engine parts, which don't really make sense, but at least it's put together.
My project today is to finish two light-class mechs. I'll post what I have tonight.
