Also he pretty much booted Miku out of the show.

Almost no singular character was actually important in GX. Really the majority of the time is Carol's plan proceeding exactly as intended and then everyone in SONG responding without any individual characters contributing other than being in the place where plot stuff is happening.
I think it's why I would say Kirika was MVP of GX because she didn't add anything to the plot, neither did anyone else. At the same time she didn't really ruin anything and was consistently cute.

Dragon's Dogma is nice in that it rewards you for exploring, and the fact that enemies don't scale to your level defines difficulty zones well enough. Just running around and doing random things is the best way to play it the first time really.

You have to be at least level 10, and visit the Inn in Gran Soren. Talk to the manager there and there's an option for changing vocation.
Mystic Knight is also top fun, and has some good ability combinations with weapon buffs and sigils.

Do you know what's the problem about most of the characters you are mentioning? They weren't redeemed and most of them are villains from the start to the end. For example, the worms,Zouken wasn't his real grandfather and even his design says "I'm a fucking villain".
