I never played a Gundam game before. Would this be a good game for me? I love competitive multiplayer games.
I heard this game is pretty well designed for high-level competitive play. Is it true? Or is this just a casual party game?

Not him, but it'z a great single player game. Try Next+ on a psp emulator and see if you like it, they're very similar

he meant that the /m/ scene died, not that multiplayer died in general. You can still play online (though its 80% tryhards desu). If you want single player, get vanilla EXVS. Same great gameplay but a much more robust single player mode than full boost
