It's just been retconned. The Guidestone is found after the Hyperdrive Core now. But in the original lore, when they first found the ruins while looking for the guidestone, everyone else on the archaeology team was "killed by accidents."

This was always interesting but even this game isn't going to explore it.

I hope we get expansions and DLC that allow us to fight campaigns on other parts of Kharak.

This website hasn't had an update in more than a decade, and its info doesn't exactly conflict with what's stated in the timeline in >>13725784. Meaning that the Guidestone still could've been discovered decades after the Hyperspace Core.

Should I just redeem my Homeworld: Remastered code now?

I don't really see a reason why you need to wait for a patch before redeeming a code.

And I can't see intangible digital content being worth anything if the game will even run on PCs 20 years from now.

I want to play Homeworld 1 a lot more than Homeworld 2. But HW1 is bonked.

And there's no Khadeshi or Turanic faction in MP yet.
>>
>>13727148
Thats copied from the Homewolrd Historical and Technical Briefing word for word btw, pages 3 and 4, so yes, the Guidestone was always found later
The retcon was the Hyperdrive Core being super duper special unique snowflake instead of a generic one (Historical and Technical data claims the one in the mothership is a enlarged copy instead of the Khar-Toba one.)

Somtaaw were quite hit-and-miss with their designs, but I think that's because most of them were meant to be mining/utility vessels.

Their best designs IMO are every one of their combat frigates. Ramming frigates are fucking insane the first few times you field them.
>>

I liked the GATTAI FIGHTERS and BENDING ION BEAMS more

Yeah, the linking tech was pretty much the dopest thing Somtaaw has. Helps that you get it right off the bat.

And by bending beams, don't you mean *splitting*? Because that's what the tech of the Somtaaw MBF does, and why it doesn't do well against anything larger than a corvette by itself.

Dreadnought was two Battlecruisers w/o upgrades rolled into one unit, but it lack damage control so you had to get constantly repair by your workers.

Dreadnought felt underpowered because it you didn't get to use its main gun until near end of the campaign. Battlecruisers were everywhere at this point of the game. (Thaddis Sabbah had 6-15 of them).

I was reading a devs post history in a place that should not be named and he said this regarding the mythical mega patch for remastered.

"It is the same engine. It has new stuff that makes new things possible. In some cases, HW2 changes, but overall, it is largely the same. Behind the scenes the code is VERY different - but we had to rebuild on top of the code the stuff that made HW2 what it is (multi-ship Squadrons maybe the most obvious example). That said, when you want things to feel like/act HW1, they can more than ever before. And again - the changes go beyond either... some of the ways the systems have been created add new layers to old mechanics, stuff everyone who's tried it is very, very positive about. The goal is happy players - finally after months that goal is looking to be a bulls-eye shot"

It's nice to see some actual fucking living people in a Homeworld game.
I love the other games but fuck if they didn't neglect the actual races piloting the ships to the extent that the whole thing could've been about sentient robots. The Vaygr are the main antagonists of an entire game and you don't see a single one unless you count Makan's bleary image.
>>
>>13745413
But for other part, HW1 lore mentioned they had to use protection suits for the desert, then this bitch was just watching the sun pass like she was on a beach kinda undermines the urgency and danger of the desert.
>The Vaygr are the main antagonists of an entire game and you don't see a single one unless you count Makan's bleary image.
Pretty much the same for the Taiidan, still think it was a mistake to put it in Karak when they had better options imo

They're pretty much the "galaxy far, far away" type. Not much to go by before the galactic standard year, only that there were Progenitors, they made Sajuuk and the three Hyperspace Cores, and then 'faded from memory.'

20+ missions/procedural missions don't mean shit if half of them are just glorify skirmish maps.

>>13747927
Set in our galaxy, humans exploring space come across a hyperspace sinkhole that draws ships to the surface of LM-27 Original Desert Planet Donut Steel, which is completely littered with thousands of alien and human wrecks, some of them the size of the Homeworld motherships and megastations.
Players belong to an expeditionary force from a Chinese company and scout for wrecks to break apart and salvage.
Opponents are automated defenses and other salvage teams.

Didn't think it was that special myself, but I feel sqeezing it into the framework of HW lore ended up limiting the possibilities and freedoms the game could have gone with given a blank slate.

l do kinda miss the gigantic ship wrecks; they've always been a huge appeal to me in HW. There's only so much you can do on Kharak with them, I'm not holding my breath.

Sources for the original story aren't too reliable but the Vaygr invasion was still the catalyst for the story. It was meant to start off slow like Cataclysm, dealing with Turanic tribes and Imperial Taiidanii until it becomes clear that the rise in the raids is actually precursor to a campaign of conquest, the only hope for the struggling Hiigarans and their weakened allies against the overwhelming forces is to find Sajuuk. From there, you'd bounce between two commands - The 15th Defense Fleet and the Mothership expedition fleet. The 15th missions were straight battles revolving around holding back the Vaygr tide and trying to consolidate allied fleets together, while the MS missions were more about exploration, small-unit tactics and exposition. Some core differences were that it wasn't unusual to have Ai allies during missions, and much of the game was designed around strategically capturing and holding megalith structures, from which you could build bases to keep your fleet supplied; In general the map itself was much more important to play and featured things like debris zones and types of clouds. From some of the mission concepts it's conjectured that there was a Grand Strategy element where you could send ships via hypergate to different areas that effected control of those zones and/or later missions.

Again, take all of this with a huge bucket of salt because I don't think we ever got a proper run-down of the original idea other than off-hand comments and concepts.

As someone who's spent a fair amount of time picturing Quarians naked, the number of fingers and toes and the shins will never let them look 'basically human' unless you're just looking at the face.

Besides which, rewatch the last animatic in Homeworld, specifically the part where they're disembarking.

So I'm about halfway done with the original Homeworld (I just beat the stage where you have to kill the 3 hyperspace inhibitors) and I'm really enjoying it, even more than I thought it would. The universe is pretty well-made, with the various factions--the Bentusi, those Kadeshi guys, and the Empire itself--having their own intriguing histories. It makes me think it would make a pretty good LoGH-type lengthy space opera series, maybe with a mixed Arabic/classical soundtrack with Susumu Hirasawa (The theme of Guts from the old Berserk anime sounds like it wouldn't be out of place on Kharak).

im pretty sure they are actually religious extremists, from the manual:

Of all the kiithid, none has lost more throughout the centuries than Kiith Gaalsien. The Gaalsien line is ancient and some of the oldest documents on Kharad bear their sigil. While there is some debate about their specific origin in the collapse of Khar-Toba, it is clear that by the time civilization once again rose on Kharak, the Gaalsieni were already a spiritual and political force to be reckoned with.
Historically, while minor cults have come and gone, the majority of Kharaki have always believed in the Great Maker Sajuuk, whose Hand Shapes What Is. The majority of religious sects differ not over whether Sajuuk exists, but in what His nature may be, and His reasons for bringing us to Kharak. The majority view until the Time of Reason was some variation on the theme of punishment; the logic being that no just God would leave His people on such an inhospitable world if they had not done something to earn this fate.

Many vital survival tactics, such as conservation of resources and not risking the future of the kiith on untried methods, were reinforced by dogma in ancient

page
Kharak - undesirable acts were always described in terms of punishable arrogance. These beliefs helped keep our people alive during the great trek from the central deserts, but once in the temperature polar regions, the same beliefs held back useful innovations that the more hospitable environment made possible. Generally, how wrathful one believed Sajuuk to be tended to dictate how wary one was of cultural and technological advances.
Of the three major religious kiithid, Gaalsien, Ferriil, and Somtaaw, it was Gaalsien that preached the strongest message of punishment. The dogma of righteous suffering and humility held that Sajuuk had cast our people down to Kharak from some celestial paradise to pay for our arrogance. Gaalsien theologians preached that to deviate from the most accepted and ritualized survival methods was to actually extend the period of time before our people would be lifted back up to heaven. In the early days, this strict dogma paid off and allowed Kiith Gaalsien to survive and prosper during various ecological disasters during the period between 75-250. Once this turbulent time passed and people penetrated further into the temperate polar region, more innovative kiithid regained their power and Gaalsien power began to fade somewhat. Many archaeologists believe that Kiith Gaalsien deliberately started the Heresy Wars as an attempt to bring all the lesser kiithid back under its power during the resulting chaos.
>>
>>13754751
Fortunately for the technically inclined among us, it was Kiith Naabal which emerged victorious from the Heresy Wars, and the dogma of penance and repression begin to fade from the hearts and minds of Kharaki. Despite this, the Gaalsien, power shattered forever after nearly 300 years of war, became even more extreme in their religious beliefs -- as if to compensate for the rest of the sinful planet. By the time the Time of Reason was at its height in 710, the Gaalsien were down to less than 30 vassal families, and only the great desert temple city of Saju-ka remained under its power. Perhaps it was the sense that history had passed them by, or simply a desire to commit an act of sacrifice strong enough to regain the favor of Sajuuk Himself, but in the year 717, the kiith-sa of the Gaalsien performed an act that has lived in infamy ever since.
At the time, Saju-ka was the artistic gem of Kharak. In its great temples and halls were most of the great works commissioned in the name of the God Sajuuk, and in its libraries were the collected works of our people, gathered before His eyes so that He could see them and judge us worthy. Though Saju-ka had been built in the first hospitable valley found in the north, time had allowed the deserts to crawl ever northward themselves, and by the 700s, sand would have completely swallowed Saju-ka if not for the complex series of wind baffles, dikes and sand paths designed by the great Engineer Gar

technical + historical brief
Naabal. One night, during the height of the spring winds, Saju-ka was lost to our people. In a single act of divine madness, Miirpat Gaalsien-Sa ordered his people to blow up the entire system that held back the sand. The light from the hundreds of explosions was still visible when the hungry sands began pouring down the streets of Saju-ka. Within two days the city was completely buried, and thousands died in the mass evacuation.
>>
>>13754697
I also think they nailed the transition from animation to gameplay.
I didn't even notice it, it was that seamless and smooth.
>>
>>13754756
The whole of Kiith Gaalsien was convicted in absentia by the Daiamid in Tiir and deemed an outlaw kiith, but this punishment had very little effect on the Gaalsien, as they slipped away into the wastes during that terrible night, abandoning the progress they saw as a decadence that would eventually bring down the wrath of God.
Since then, K i i t h Gaalsien has wandered the great central deserts, surviving by the skills and rituals they held so dear. Occasionally they will make themselves known by raiding scientific communities or stations in the wastes and leaving massive theological documents proclaiming how close we are to the end. Military expeditions to track them down once and for all have always failed, and a certain mythology has grown up around them -- as if there is a nagging suspicion in the minds of modern Khiraki that the only way Kiith Gaalsien could have survived is if they really did have the grace of Sajuuk. Some say that they have even found His lost city under the sands, and Saju- ka once again echoes with mumbled prayers, and offerings made in the darkness.
Certain acts of sabotage during the construction of the Mothership seemed to be Gaalsien-inspired, and it’s likely that even today there are families secretly aligned with the ancient religious kiith.

If one had to make a Homeworld series in the style you mentioned, I'd say it would have to take place among the Taiidani.

The returning Exiles were such a big deal to the Empire that their mere existence fanned the flames of a rebellion. And then when Hiigara gets reclaimed, the Taiidan are actually pretty much fucked as a race, split into a well-meaning but fragile Republic, and an Imperialist faction with futile ambitions.
>>
>>13755467
Yeah, I just rescued Captain Elson's ship. Taiidani internal politics might make for a very interesting show.

Hell, I think it might also make a good RPG setting. I just started reading the manual online (after I downloaded it from Steam I just started playing it and only now looked at the documentation) and the various Kiith histories are fascinating. You could probably make a nifty pen and paper roleplaying game set in various periods (the Heresy Wars, the swords n' sandals period after the first city's power core failed, etc), where classes would be determined or influenced by your choice of Kiith, etc.

Do they still make manuals like that anymore? Reading it reminded me of games like Wing Commander and Starcraft from the 90s, where soooo much info and background was contained in the manuals. Man, that's a blast from the past...

One more thing: I also just found out that Lane Campbell, the Bentusi voice, was also the narrator for Gundam Wing! He also died in 2014 ;_;
>>
>>13755481

You might wanna read the manual for Homeworld: Cataclysm, then (OR JUST PLAY THE FUCKING GAME). Despite being made by a different studio, the game's backstory builds upon the original game's lore very nicely.

With high expectations, the kiithrid leave Kharak to begin a new life on their Homeworld. However, the great Taiidan Empire learned of their journey, and soon razed their adoptive world for violating a forgotten four millennia old treaty, in the name of justice. And peace.

The year is Kharaki Dating System 1214. In a move to avenge their lost world, the Mothership, guided by Karan S'Jet, forged new arsenals with the help of the Bentusi. However, the Taiidan Emperor catches on to this operation, and dispatched a fleet to deal with the troublesome traders.

Well, I just beat Homeworld, so I guess I'll get started on Cataclysm. But god Damn, that was an amazing game. Like I said earlier, I thought I'd like it, but IMO this was one of the best space games ever released. Despite the gameplay changes, the remastered version looks absolutely beautiful, the aesthetics are great, the music is wonderful, and the plot, though not extensive or overdrawn, fulfills its purpose near-perfectly. I admit tearing up a bit after the sixteenth stage--Barber's music along with the last image of Karan finally setting foot on Hiigara reminded me of how I felt after finishing Shadow of the Colossus for the first time. I'm glad it's getting a revival with Deserts of Kharak, but I certainly do wish it had gotten the recognition it deserved back in its day.

My one complaint is that the AI made some of the later levels kind of underwhelming. For stage 14 I saw the huge sphere of Taidaan ships surrounding the inhibitor and thought I would have to make an intense, quick breakthrough, but I ended up just sending one scout buzzing around all the enemy ships, which lured them all away to an edge of the map and allowed my ships to just meander up and blast the inhibitor into pieces. Still, aside from that it was reasonably challenging but fair at the same time.

Man, oh man. I never thought monochrome images of nature displayed to the tune of Adagio could instill tearful joy in me.

Once you start playing Cataclysm, prepare your anus, because some missions can (and sometimes will, no matter how much you slice it) kick your ass. If you looked at the Taiidan and the Turanic Raiders a certain way during HW1, in Cataclysm, they'll fuck you up in ways you previously thought impossible, until you're more than halfway through the campaign. Okay, question: is there a lore explanation for how the ships in Homeworld navigate? Like is it just star wars, where velocity and momentum don't matter, or is there like a sort of warp drive + thrusters pseudoexplanation?

I kinda want there to be an attempt at an explanation for how these ships fly like this, possibly because i am horribly autistic about my scifi
>>
>>13760317
Do you mean hyperspace navigation? In the manual on page 6 (http://www.scribd.com/doc/97870330/Homeworld-Manual-PC#scribd), the hyperdrive works through "quantum tunneling" Now, if you mean the ships themselves (i.e why they strafe and fly around like Star Wars fighters rather than B5 starfuries), well, on page 7, it says there are small plasma vectors on fighters that aren't really noticed during gameplay but are so efficient they allow the smaller ships to pull off those fancy maneuvers. The bigger ships are harder to move, so they don't zip around like that.

I can live with this. Plus it's not like we're ever in a situation in-game where we need to worry about orbital mechanics, really
>>
>>13760352
Pretty much, yeah. Though that also got me thinking, pretty much every RTS I can think of has space fighters that zoom around like they're in atmosphere (star wars style) rather than flipping or stopping like the Starfuries from babylon 5. While I think there are some action games with 'realistic' orbital mechanics, I can't think of many strategy games that have that, aside from a couple indies like Interplanetary--but there are no spaceships in that one, it's more of an planet vs. planet artillery game.

I'm afraid Homeworld is soft-SF.
Engine = reactionless thrust
Max Velocity = as the plot demand
Surface-to-Orbit = the cutscene depict ship with magical anti-gravity property, at least it explain their flat design
Long distance travel = depend of your mileage, the Exile some arrived on Kharak across a GALAXY on slow ship (forbidden hyperspace), even at light speed it would take 12000 in our galaxy and Time dilatation would be at maximum.
Still, the HW2 backstory said/retcon that after the discovered HYPERSPACE-CORE they used to build small copy of hyperspace-core with lesser range.

The small hyperspace-core allow short jump.
The HYPERSPACE-CORE are ancient relic from Progenitor which allow to jump entire fleet over the whole galaxy, except some unstable gravity place.
By the end of HW2 3 reunited Hyperspace core allow to overcome unstable gravity, and also opened derelict GATE across GALAXY.

Anyway,
if you look for extremely realistic game (aside from KSP/Orbiter) I can redirect you toward "Rogue System" an Early Access game completely shadowed by HUGE ASS game like Elite Dangerous H or Star Citizen.
How realistic it is ? Thinks DCS. 30 minutes just to start up the ship.

From this map, made of the lore of Homeworld, there were ancient GATES aside from the one gate leading to the EYE OF SAJUUK
Those gates do not lead to other galaxy but unlock travel at speed unrivaled across the galaxy.

It make you wonder how those Empire could trade and wage war if even the GREAT HYPERSPACE CORE were not powerful enough to cross the entire galaxy.
>>
>>13760448
I always got the idea that they were talking about the core not being able to jump the entire galaxy in one go, having to make a series of jumps.

I mean, Homeworld would've been awfully anticlimatic if they could've jumped from Kharak straight to Hiigara. So everyone needs to make a journey of several large leaps to get across the galaxy, and other people had to make considerably smaller leaps.

That being said, >>13747174 said it. Homeworld 2 was rushed as fuck and the story suffered because of it.

>>
>>13760387
thats probably because orbital mechanics are non trivial to either model, in a simulation or to understand as a person. A large scale game featuring them would either have to dumb them down so far as to make it more or less irrelevent, or end up being so complex both computationally, and gameplay wise as to exclude all but a very niche audience. I mean look at KSP that is not a widely popular game and even it doesnt completely accurately simulate orbital mechanics.
>>
>>13760448
Because lets be honest, the GHC was a bullshit retcon out of rushing the game.
trading makes more sense with generic hyperdrives having to do jumps, the distance is great and the empires probably set space hubs in those areas i am assuming you don't see them in HW1 because the route was set by command to avoid Taiidan Patrols as much as they could

A good example of the non triviality of real math is Star Ruler (the first game)
This game allow you to play in "galaxy" of 2000 stars, manage as many planet/solar system through a set of not-that-good automated-UI.

But the thing is : to reach anywhere a ship must spend 50% of the time accelerating, then decelerating (until you invent warp tech), if your enemy moved in between, you can overshoot it completely.
Gravity isn't simulated, but you can chose to park your ship/station on pseudo-orbit. Something that make system defense quite particular as planet must be defended separately.

Last : balancing the gameplay of a Galactic economy is hard. You can easily lose years stuck at a technological level while someone else exploded to god-like level.

Wasn't it semi-newtonian? Your ships have mass and limited thrust in axes up to their maximum listed velocity. Just from watching strike craft fly around they are the most vulnerable when they need to turn and they slow down to 0 and accelerate from that point. They just hit a hard cap on velocity at 1000-1500 m/s.

I always thought of the Beast in the NAGGAROK as being like the devil himself. Its children are no less menacing, but its ancient intelligence is what makes it so sinister.

It tries to make pacts with lesser beings, draws them to its side with promises of power and glory, yet ultimately serves itself - in the end, all life in the cosmos merely exists to satisfy its limitless hunger. It almost makes sense that Somtaaw, a formerly religious Kiith, rises to the occasion and slices its heart out.

> a theoretical mass-enhanced ion drive is still a physical action-reaction set

You'd just leave the physically impossible to go into the technologically impossible. What you call a "mass-enhanced ion drive" is grossly speaking a plasma-drive, but it doesn't make the math any more feasible.

To make a plasma (or fusion-drive) able to accelerate those gigantic mass of metal without a propellant tank half the MASS of the spaceship, you would need it to be insanely powerful. How much ?
- Probably more than using a perfect Matter/Antimatter conversion reactor bigger than the ship.
- Enough to become the main weapon (Kziinti Lesson)
...and you still have the speed cap problem.

So really, you'll live better accepting that Homeworld is Soft-SF" with reactionless thruster" and (unrealistic) space fighter. It will stay just as enjoyable.

>>13763737
Actually it is. The gameplay portray what the pseudo-tech can achieve. Even if the cut-scene portrayed a different physics the technology would still put it firmly into soft SF

Homeworld is Soft SF even if you ignore the movement and drive and FTL shenanigans.

The method they use to process materials is basically magical horseshit (cool but still magical). They Break things down into their component atoms and then rebuild up what they need, its on the same level as total annihilation nano lathe craziness.

>Long distance travel = depend of your mileage, the Exile some arrived on Kharak across a GALAXY on slow ship (forbidden hyperspace), even at light speed it would take 12000 in our galaxy and Time dilatation would be at maximum.

That's actually the Hw2 retcon with the whole Sajuuk backstory. In hw 1 manual they just found a regular hyperspace core inside Khar-Toba. They could have used them to get to Kharak. It's also pretty clear that the Taiidanis were keeping a close eye on them otherwise they wouldn't have showed up like a few hours after they launched the mothership. Don't forget the Kadeshi would probably be using hyperspace jumps all the time to raid ships around the nebula

Has anyone else had problems in Homeworld 2 multiplayer where all you need to do is have 20 resource collectors on one resource patch and all your resource problems are basically solved despite the backing up?

And has anyone else tried the Gundam Seed mod? Do I have to be playing in Chinese Applocale for it to display properly/

You are playing with beginners dude, if you are not multi-patching than your enemy is, guys like you i like to hyper destroyer at the 7 minute mark.

I have only played Homeworld multiplayer at a casual level what is multipatching? A hyper destroyer is a destroyer with all the upgrades?

I hope the multiplayer Deserts of Kharak is good I need a new RTT. Wargame and MoW just gets old after 3000 hours.

One thing i don't understand.
How come like half the homeworld mods are chinese? was a massive hit there like SC2 in korea?
>>
>>13771193

Chinese are massive sci-fi fans I think and differently from the Japanese they actually play PC games. I'm constantly finding mods for space games from China and it always surprises me.

Progenitors were pretty much the first human settlers who came to this galaxy from the Milky Way. Progenitors are the original Terrans, whose offspring have produced the different human races and empires of the HW galaxy (which is a smaller spiral galaxy compared to our massive one).

You know it is true.
>>
>>13771303
i mean that's all I could think they ever were

which really makes Homeworld even cooler to me
>>
>>13771319
Yeah, there were signs all over the place; such as the compatibility of the technology and the feel of "likeness" from the machine-codes when they docked with the different progenitor ships.

Progenitors are Earthlings who wielded god-like powers thru super-advanced technologies. But they are long forgotten and dead, because succeeded by their own off-spring.

It would be interesting if a future HW game would have a storyline about the humans of the spiral galaxy banding together to find a way back to the Milky Way to search for the origins of the human/progenitor race.
>>
>>13771330
>find a way back to the Milky Way

kek.

I bet that they find out that the Progenitors left earth and escaped from the milky way because the jews invented the beast-virus some million years before, and unleashed it at the goys.
>>
>>13770891
Indeed.

If only they listened to Kharakian Bin Laden.
>>
I cant understand all the goy-tears for the desert/space jews at all.

The Hiigarans used to be total dicks during their days as an empire. They were soundly defeated fair and square by the, back then, much weaker and oppressed Taiidan people, and sent to exile with certain conditions that they had better not to forget.

In the end, they talked shit and got hit.

Taiidani did nothing wrong.

Taiidanii themselves did nothing wrong. Sure, the emperor and his clones are madmen, but their political system itself, their claims and their right to rule was just.

Elson is a traitor. I'm sure the Imperialist Taiidani hate him like the Russians hate Gorbatchev.

I try to multi-patch, and it doesn't seem to be more efficient than a single resource patch, especially since the enemy just starts squirting out destroyers around ten minutes into the game.

>prefering space jews/kebab over awesome imperial russia/imperial japan inspired Galactic Reich with them TRADITIONS and them classy WOOD PANELING in their capital ships.

I bet the Kushan were so jelly and buttblasted of all the classical paintings, wood panelings, classy uniforms and fine spirits inside that Taiidani assault frigate, that these goatfuckers couldnt help but to tortured the captain to death inside their own barren, ugly ships.

>>
>>13771950
The jew is the one who talks shit, gets hit and then tries to jew his way out of the consequences by crying infront of the international community about anti-semitism on the rise.

That's basically exactly that the Hiigarans did. Including that SJW thing about Taiidanis being anti-semites and having the galactic council turn against the rightful rulers of the galactic core because of feelings.
>>
>>13771961
hold on, lets drop the jew thing, this metaphor is getting hard to parse
>>
>>13771944
It was 4 thousand years ago and the modern-day Kushan bear almost no resemblance to the Hiigara they used to be because they spent so much time on Dune. They didn't even remember they used to be an empire, much less the contract they were supposed to have signed. A rational response from the Taidaan would have been to warp a fleet into orbit and offer the Kushan a chance to explain themselves instead of nuking the planet immediately.

Why, the Hiigarans/Kushan are basically space jews, finding their way from Egypt home to Canaan.

What, do you think, the space jews did to the 'indigenous' Taiidani inhabitants living on Hiigara for the last 4000 years while they were away in exile? Kinda what the jews did with the Palestinians today would be my best guess, while the worst guess is a lolocaust.

Pic related should be an indicator about the level of 'civility' and 'humanity' of the Kushan race: Purpose-made torture machines.

Hyper Destroyer is a Vaygr strategy for dealing with lazy non offensive fighter mains who don't push, 7 minutes in and assuming you don't have a boatload of torpigates or lazer vettes it's a guaranteed win. Basically build nothing but platforms at best, rush a destroyer and hyperspace it on top of your enemy.
