***READ THE GUIDE***
For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

Our next Group Build!
Field Repair
Basically what this means is that rather than the mobile suit being fresh out of a factory, it's quite the opposite. Whether it's trudging through dense jungles or dodging debris in asteroid belts, your mobile suit has seen some better days.
You've been out in the field for quite a long time now, nearly half a year of active duty in the front lines and your personal mobile suit's pretty banged up. What's worse is the fact that there isn't a maintenance bay within several thousand kilometers of your local area that's capable of making any major repairs. Your unit's engineering crew has resorted to patch work and jury-rigging to keep your machine operational. Stray fire might have crippled its legs and arms or otherwise dealt considerable damage to a mobile suit's systems meanwhile some units have simply lost bits of armor and panels to the elements and have been forced to patch weld metal sheets over the exposed inner workings.
In any case it's beaten to hell but somehow you and your team have somehow kept it chugging along and now command's ordered all units operating in your theatre to fall back to form a defensive line against the enemy offensive.

>Bottle of Future gets here soon
Anyone have experience airbrushing Future? Tips to pass along?
OMG
You should be okay to airbush it straight from the bottle at around 10-15psi like a normal acrylic. On military modeling forums people who had issues with spraying it unthinned just added a few drops of water or acrylic thinner.
>>13716763
Can't that also be used to tighten ball joints better than superglue? Can any anons confirm?
anons help the guy at my m&p is trying to sell me an air brush even though i told him im thinking of moving and i have no place to put it without killing someone. i dont remember the brand except it starts with a p and it was 109. should i just take the deal or should i be firm and say no thanks?
>>13716797
im pretty sure it was paasche
>>13716797
If you have no space just be firm and say no. Even if you are worried about missing a deal, airbrushes are relatively cheap online nowadays.
Guess what arrived!!
>>13716790
Very helpful to know, thanks.
>>13716781
I fucking wish
>>13716794
>better than superglue
No. Shit flakes off after a while (duh). Superglue doesn't.
>>13716763
>Tips to pass along
Don't do it indoors, shit stinks.
>>13716893
Superglue is an acrylic too. Cured Future will be just as wear resistant.
>>13716946
Cyanoacrylate != whatever crap they coat the floors with.
There is a reason you don't glue things together with Future.
>>13716951
Their adhesive qualities are different but super glue isn't more wear resistant than Future. Not sure why you would think it is in the first place, super glue isn't even designed to be wear resistant, whereas Future is. More importantly, what you want when tightening joints is a perfectly uniform and smooth surface, which Future is going to give because it self-levels really well.
>>13716951
some parts are glued on with future, especially on car models
>>13716763
It can be easy to soak a part so just go easy at first, but that stuff levels extremely well if you just leave it alone
>>13716897
Am using a garage with an open door, shouldn't be a problem.
>>13716996
Go easy on it, ok. Arigatou, anon-kun.
Spoon testing it is.
work continues on the hyper delta gundam (working title). think I settled on a subdued version of the EX-S gundam for the paint scheme.
>>13717201
That's a big model
>>13717201
I like the name 'Hyper Delta'. Good luck with that, anon.
>>13716681
Any news on that 200th hg?
Reminder, report all the shitposting and fake announcements, when you report them in big enough numbers, we'll for a mod down here to start handing out bans.
>>13717360
Ban?
>>13717371
Revolver Jegan?
Is gunpla the fursuit of /m/?
>>13717689
What does that even mean?
>>13717201
i called mine "Delta M", Delta M(odernized).
how did you end up mounting the wings to its back? it doesnt come with any parts for that out of the box.
>>13717815
backpack from the Maoh X gundam, arms from the GM cardigan, a lot of patience and a goddamn drill bro.
>>13717906
forgive the nubs, shes nowhere near finished. here's a detailed shot of the Hyper mega particle cannon on the fighter.
It's always exciting when a package arrives earlier than expected.
>>13717930
They actually put that dude on the box? Huh.
>>13717912
and of course, they combine!
>>13716822
MG Gaia gear alpha
Anybody have any tips for building a kind of shit model? A friend bought this but it's just so...bad. A piece of the bottom broke open because the top & bottom wouldn't fit together at all (You could only get one side of it to stay together). I'm not good enough to do this myself. Any pointers?
>>13717360
That would be extremely painful
>>13718159
This is a lie right? You're fucking with me aren't you?
>>13718211
They're big guys
Hey can I make a reg HG X1 out of the X1 Full Cloth kit?
>>13718265
For you.
>>13717815
All I see when I look at this is Optimus Primal's color scheme..
>>13717912
That's fucking great
Is it just me, or do the 1/144 IBO kits feel a little fragile? I love the Grazes but it's bugging me whenever I pick them up and pose them a little.
>>13718358
The Graze's upper thigh armor does not like to stat on, at all.
Is it wrong that I just ordered a Revive Mk. II Gundam (TITANS) and it's gonna be my very first UC Gundam. Like I have an Exia andG-Selfbut I don't even own an Ez-8 or Alex.
>>13718373
The Mk II Revive is gr8.
>>13718373
order what you want.
if you're so distraught about it, get an Ez-8 or Alex and EMS it so it comes in first.
Do you guys speculate the RG Wing Gundam EW will be better than the WZC?
I like the bright colors of the WG EW...
Here we see the Blitz in a confrontation with it's natural predator
>>13718347
it was worse back when it still had a purple head.
>>13718014
Very gainax, I like it!
>>13718703
That's sexy as hell
>>13718014
>that little crossbone belt buckle
Love it. What colors are you thinking for this, dude?
First kit I have ever built
>>13718768
i wanted this to be a prototype so im thinking EX-s but im open to suggestions.
>>13718820
Gonna need the full size pic to really see the horror.
I'm really looking to make a Grimoire Red shoulder custom (yeah, real original I know, but I just got back into gunpla after a year and I wanted to do it when the kit came out), what paints should I look for ?
>>13718840
I'd suggest gaianotes or mr color for airbrushing
>>13718849
Actually i'm gonna hand paint it because I have litteraly nothing. I was more looking for the color I should take because otherwise the guide has some advice for paints.
The guide is still viable right ?
>>13718865
The guide was updated recently but the paint section was dumbed down a bit because a lot of the information was a bit redundant.
>>13718873
Ok, thanks.
I'll probably end up buying lot of different paints for this build and do runner paint test.
Anyway, really late but the Grimoire is a really simple and nice build, make me hype to get again into gunpla.
>>13718887
Here's the paint guide for the official Bandai Red Shoulder, I'd suggest using
http://scalemodeldb.com/paint
to help match paints to whatever brand you choose
>>13718897
Thanks a lot anon
>>13718806
Do people really just manually recolor art? Or is there somewhere you can do it?
First kit I have ever built
>>13718916
i found this image on google but yea theres a imgur collection of templates in the guide
>>13718916
>>13718957
P-post the grillvotom please...
>>13718966
It's a shitty old thing I did for fun back then, the empty lineart is in the guide
>>13718966
>>13718973
>>13718806
Nu colors.
>>13718897
There an English version of this, for those of us who can't read the moonrunes.
>>13719016
Check mech9 for translated paint guides, unfortunately he only has the normal scopedog
Finished my first snap build since I moved. Still need to clean, trim, and paint him, but that'll happen once I finish setting up my hobby desk.
Not a bad way to end my six month hiatus.
>>13718776
>>13718159
These are just bait aren't they, or old pictures right?
>>13719074
>Nailed it !
>kit from the 80s
>no pictures of the completed model on the packaging
Yeah I ain't putting 25 bucks on that.
>>13719113
I fucking love the Zaku 1 design.
>Yonem Kirk protecting my books right now
Gimme custom Jesta ideas, I need a personal suit and the Jesta speaks to me on a spiritual level.
>>13719143
Not jesta, but can give you a painting scheme idea
>>13719138
>Mechatro WeGo are holding up the cards
I built my first kit ever today.
It is a yms-15 gyan.. the hguc variant.
I had to use cheap nippers and nail clippers, which lead to... some nubbage.
For some reason 4chan won't let me upload any photos of it.
>>13719213
Which Jim is that? When did you get it?
>>13719175
That Patlaboricorn looks fiiiine.
Hi /m/! First time poster here. So, I just got a Graze as a present, and after (mostly) being done with it, I was wondering, what do you guys think would look better? Having its propulsors on the back or on its hips?
>>13719202
You're most likely going to need to resize and/or crop them.
>>13718831
Why would you do this to yourself?
hey image spammer you'll get the mods attention easier if you post porn you know
>>13719225
>Which Jim is that?
1/100 Nouvel GM-III
>When did you get it?
NO JIM FOR YOU
>>13719370
I've noticed people like swapping the hands of bigger kits to smaller ones.
Only 22 more till we can make a new thread gogo image spammer
Hey man, stop spamming thumbnail pics.
RED.
The stickers were a pain and i already am thinking about removing half of them.
The stickers that go on flat surfaces are quite nice. However any stickerthat folds was a pain to get nice. The design on the shield is made up of 6 seperate stickers, all of which do not actually fit, so thats a huge pain as well.
Reminder not to skip leg day
>>13719530
Yeah them stickers look pretty awful.
>>13719269
you saw the red squiggle under that word and just ignored the fuck out of it.
>>13719530
For that chest sticker, why not just run an exacto knife down the center so as to reduce pulling on both sides?
Seems rather silly to me to even have it as one sticker if it's going across a gap. Everything else looks good though IMO. Wish they were more white though.
>>13716876
ACtually that one's real. Its actually in Planning. The real question is if we get it or not.
>>13719921
Nice property, bro.
>>13719929
Thanks man, what's cool is there are family of bald eagles we protect there.
>>13719281
OH god, Im not sure I ever have seen that large pic of it.
>>13719935
>>13719921
>>13719935
>>13719964
>>13720001
Where the gunpla
1 more eh?
>>13720010
Who cares, that property looks comfy as fuck.
>>13719935
>>13719964
Isn't it summer in Australia?
>>13720021
you cant paint shit in those conditions
>>13720026
nigga he was finishing the job. the shit poster filled the thread to barely full and pieced out 17 images before the cap. he saw this and as a true bro put this sad thread out of it's misery
>>13720025
You mean you can't prime shit in those conditions? Then yes, I agree. Painting shouldn't be a problem.
>>13720033
Spamming is better than making a new thread? Wow
>>13720039
/m/ isn't just the gunpla board anon. the other posters get kinda pissy when there's more than one thread on the front page/catalog
>>13720042
I can tell with how hard you're going defending the spam
>>13720046
stop your bitching and make the new thread already.
>>13720042
you know the only person bitching about it is the shitposter himself, he does it every fucking time.
Christ, why the fuck this board? What the fuck does he gain? I just want to discuss gunpla and see people's wips and cool builds, not this. What a waste of oxygen.
>>13720058
You know, the 'shitposter' could just be a guy trying to ruin the /m/ gunpla threads so people go to /toy/.
>>13720058
the story i heard before i left was it was someone from toy that thinks there can only be one gunpla gen so he dedicates his time ruining the lives of the un-pure until the they migrate to toy where they truly belong. i bet if /v/ had a vidya toy gen he'd be there too.
>>13719898
I get the feeling there won't be enough demand for it, but I'd like to see some results before buying a third-party kit
>>13720139
Who knows. But it has been confirmed as a candidate to get an RE/100, as well as the Leo, and Kshatriya, and some other stuff I didnt care about. (I was most excited about Efreet, which is 99% confirmed at this point.)
Jesus the thread isn't even a day old and more than two third of the post in this thread are spam shit, that's some real dedication he put in today. Someone please make a new thread
is this news because i new nothing of it.
>>13720258
Truly pathetic isn't it. And we are on 4chan.
Not even 4chan want an idiot like that.
