The game can actually be good regardless of pandering or not. There's always been deluded males and fujoshis, and there's always been pandering games for them. Not really. The series reached its peak of sales with SV and the following releases haven't come anywhere near that. SK2 sold terribly in Japan and did worse in the US. EV did a bit better but that was combining both the sales of the PS4 and Vita versions. Marvelous was actually calling them flops and saying the series wasn't profitable, which prompted Takaki to say that they were just talking shit and the games did decently.
The series isn't super profitable but at this point its built up a loyal niche in both Japan and the US. It's probably XSEED's best selling series they've localized, so when a new one gets announced they'll most likely localize it as well.
