On that elemera stealing discussion at the end of the thread, elemarians are made of elemera so the effects should be much worse for them than humans. A twintail elemarian would probably get tanged from the ring but Twirl implied that they stole all the elemera from her world and Isuna fought to save glasses elemera from their harvesting. This would mean that the rings might be meant for specific elemera only but they have some means of harvesting every elemera that costs something that makes harvesting Lolory's world a losing deal.
As for yggdrasil guildy, I don't recall any scene where she steals from her students. The ones she stole from were all humans.
Also, I just realized that it's been implied that Souji saw Solar before a long time ago so that would mean that Solar's meeting with him is the origin of his twintail mania via the ultimate twintail powers and Aika's timeslip simply boosted his and her own twintail levels.

Is this show appropriate for younger viewers? Beyond magical girls having crazy fight scenes, I don't know much about this. I have a niece who I got into toku and anime, and she's been burning through PreCure faster than I can torrent it for her. I showed her both seasons of that AKB48 show, but I'm hesitant to give her Madoka Magica just yet. Thought this might be a good direction instead.

For their relationships, order of Souji's attraction to the girls as implied by his internal narration:
Yuno > Aika >= Mikoto >Erina > Twirl > Isuna
Reasoning:
Yuno - Can relate to her and was thinking of introducing her to his mom and their cafe's regulars. Basically what you do when you introduce a new girlfriend to your family. He still gets flustered by her when hugged by her after losing his elemera. Miharu even calls her a girl her son likes.
Aika - Person he counts on the most. Compliments her various body parts whenever a guildy with the appropriate gall and affinity shows up. Initially described her as perfect, except for her chest.
Mikoto - A lot of it is usually part of a joke but Mikoto does tempt him to marry her at times with her marriage form desperation stunts. Admires her as a capable adult.
Erina - Her twintails tempt him. Close friends. Wary of her masochist tendencies.
Twirl - Souji regards her as his benefactor and would throw his life to protect her and the twintails she entrusted to him. Initially flusters him but he's gotten used to her antics and her breasts no longer bother him by vol 7.
Isuna - He's not a lolicon and closest apprroximation of their relationship would be something like neighbour's kid that follows him around.

yes, I believe it's call rope braiding, involves a lot of hair twisting.
French braiding involves starting the braid near the front of the scalp instead of at the base of the tail. A pain to start yourself but better at taming stray hairs
