People really weren't kidding when they said that Double Zeta takes a shift in tone.
It's actually kinda refreshing, albeit consistently jarring.

Bright is also handled really strangely.
I took a 3 months break from finishing Zeta to watching ZZ and it ended up as one of my favorites.
The first 20 episodes are probably some of the funniest shit I'll ever see.
If ZZ was silly all the way through then maybe i'd like it since eventually it would ease in on you and you'd appreciate it
but by the time you're starting to get used to the mood swing Tomino decides he's depressed again and people need to DIE

Watched to see how bad it got, stayed for delicious Haman.
ZZ does get better towards the end, Judau and Haman's last duel is pretty great, my one problem is I didn't really buy any of the villains who didn't really act like villains and felt more like comic relief apart from Haman.

It's amazing how importante the series is to the whole U.C. timeline considering all the jokes played until the very end.I really don't know how people can enjoy gundam unicorn without watching ZZ
I like ZZ because it makes Gundam look like a fun, instead of depressing place. Everything else except a little of 0080 makes uc universe look like a shithole.
It is a little like GBF with a brighter message, although tragedy still happens.
It was a big shift but I didn't mind, a show continuing on or getting darker would have just become dull and frustrating. It was a bad end to the whole plot line though. Should have just been a spin off taking part at the same time with some interaction.
It drags at points and the characters are nothing special but I like Tomino comedy. It also has some really strong suit design like the R-Jarja

I don't know how people understand Unicorn without seeing it. Most of the western audience who have seen it can not have got a good chunk of the plot yet it is so well liked

I loved all of ZZ, Moon Moon included. It was goofy first and more serious later, and I had fun.
It also pisses me off to no end so many suits from it have no kits or will never get modern ones.
