I thought the whole point was that Jerid was a loser and that rivalries have no real place in war. Eventually Kamielle gets over his parents. To him Jerid was just another soldier. Jerid dies like a fucking retard for a personal grudge. It was a war. Kamielle didn't kill his girlfriends out of spite or something, he did it because it's a fucking war.

I always thought it was a bit of a raw deal to have Jerid be on the aft end of "Grow up! It's war, and rivalries are dumb!" when Kamille is literally the guy behind the death of everyone Jerid has befriended or loved since he became a Titan.
It doesn't help that their first interaction was over something completely childish.
Jerid really never gets the chance to lick his wounds and get over it because he's getting another wound right over it. The next time we see him, he's recovering in a hospital, runs into Kamille, and gets tossed off a mountain.
I mean, he's still a Titan and a jerk, but I can't see it as "Jerid can't get over himself!" and more so that Jerid is going after someone who is seemingly out to ruin his life.
