Probably not, but her father's been a longtime Stasi supporter and has been trying to groom Beatrix into the role she'd assume. He was influential enough to put guards on her ass most of the time.
Having a boyfriend who was not under her father's control allowed her to retain some sanity. Once he was gone, the only thing she could do is try and change the system from within, or failing that, manipulate the system in order to try and save the greater majority of Germany. Remember, she's one of the few females who didn't get raped or reeducated under the Stasi, and was even ruthless enough to get command over her own team, which is nothing short of impressive given how ruthless the Stasi are portrayed.

We aren't really sure if Beatrix's dad was a stasi supporter or not (he probably was). All we know for sure is that he did not have a good relationship with Beatrix. Those old spoilers had alooot wrong, and you'd think someone as influential as Abel would show up in SM if he was still alive. Hell, as influential as the "Red Aristocrats" were, you'd think that someone other than Beato would show up. I think the Brehmes got purged, same as the Bernhards. Remember, chapter 5 has Jurg trying to rope Abel in on his TSF scheme since the guy has so much power over the DDR's finances and government. Objectively, I feel Beatrix did have some legitimately noble intentions, but did not have the means to really carry it all out, resorting to using what she had at her disposal.
Indeed, the similarities to Yuuko are there, where she was focusing on the big picture, beyond the immediate conflict. However, Beatrix didn't have a time-looping assistant, or was a time-looper herself, and wasn't as brilliant as Yuuko, so she couldn't force her own way without having to play by the rules of the Stasi (unlike Yuuko, who was able to bully the UN around enough to get her plan funded and completed in at least one loop).
Basically, being Beatrix is suffering, moreso than Irisdina or Katia or Theo (only Lise would be suffering more). She has to climb the Stasi ladder based on what she does, due to not being super special. She has no one to really support her; her boyfriend and the one man she ever confided in is dead, and while friendly with her squad, she still seemed to have a certain distance, as if she couldn't trust them with her own plans out of concern of having it reported to Axemann, and lose whatever immunity she's had to Axemann's indoctrination as a result.

I admit that the recent portrayal of Beatrix doesn't earn the sympathy of many non-rune readers.
I do admit that it also feels like we're only supposed to be seeing things from Theo's PoV. He's been rather biased about things in the novels, although the VN makes him much less of an asshole with alternative choices to certain situations.
But taking it as a whole (BiS), she's just as flawed and relatively human as the others we're supposed to be rooting for in Theo/Iris/Katia.
And I do believe she'd miss Jurgen considerably too; after all, he was the only one not under her father's manipulation/control and the only one she was able to ever confide her life situation to. Practically everyone else was either working for her father and his group or a rival (Iris).
With that said, realistically, I don't believe we'll get a Beatrix end in the second VN, unless it's a technical bad end appended to say, pursuing a theoretical Lise end. The way the Unlimited Yuuko end was a bad end to any other Unlimited end you were pursuing. Right down to where Yuuko was really only using Takeru to comfort herself without ever really opening up, but in SM's case, Beatrix using Theo to comfort herself without really ever opening up.
I'm assuming we'll get Iris normal (dies) and good (lives) ends, and maybe a Lise end.

As for everything else, I agree with you. I'll go further and say there probably will be no good ending for her. She'll probably end uppenetratedin all three routes, likely most of them at Theo's hands. She executes a few defectors in Cage of the Stasi (the defectors had even shot at her beforehand). She didn't come off as being too happy though, just cold and even angry. She asked why the hell they did it and then asked for their last words (the leader of the group basically told her that they were all doomed anyways and that she'll get her comeuppance). After quickly killing them, she seemed mentally exhausted. All she said was mission over, let's get back to base, no evil gloating.

Well you've definitely proven your credentials with that spoiler. I remember reading about Schmidt's fate at the end of Volume VII - Chapter III. Beato even does a little smilewhile contacting the West and seeing the blood pool around Schmidt's body. Probably one of her most badass moments.

This is the Kiminozo anime director. 1:1 adaption is a lot less important to him than maximizing drama within the scope of anime running time.

Nothing can be fully trusted, just because the narration never really makes a clear statement about who is right. It'll cover in detail what the characters are thinking and show their (correct or incorrect) conclusions, but it never really states "Theo was right" or "Iris was wrong." SInce Theo is the main character, his introspection and analysis is the one that gets displayed the most.
