I'm not surprised if he's currently Bandai's favorite designer. Ebikawa's designs seem to have all the toy gimmicks worked out.
Looking at this page, he sketched over photos of the Wing plamo and even indicates where to add locking tabs to secure the bird mode, something you don't see in other versions of Wing Gundam.
