Plus, if that were the case, that glove would be scorched right off and we'd be looking at a robot hand snagging Han's blaster.

I don't really see it. I mean, I can actually see what someone is on about when they point it out like the OP's picture, but if someone doesn't point it out it'd never occur to me, even when looking at them again afterwards. I just don't think it's that close a design cue and it really seems to be stretching to find similarity to me.

>>13679335

The EU also said that absorbing energy directly like Vader did with the blaster bolt was a rare Jedi skill and had Corran Horn be one of it's users, including absorbing the thermal energy from a hotspring or something to lift an ally from danger while he was still struggling to learn to use the Force.
>>
>>13679318

What is kinography? Or do you mean cinematography and just trying to make it sound more fancy by using a bastardization of the latin origin for cinema (kinema = movement)? I went and looked it up having never come across the word before and all I got was a reddit thread, some deviantart shit, some blogs and so on and really nothing of note.

That said, I do actually think TFA has some decent cinematography. The opening shot of the Star Destroyer blocking out the planet before the TIEs fly out from under it's shadow is a good variation of Lucas' original Star Wars opening shot, the beam of light illuminating Han as he walks across the bridge to confront Ren is a fairly cliche shot but I think still works well there and there's a couple of other nice ones scattered throughout the film. Nothing terribly original, but still well utilized regardless.

I don't know, you tell me. Here's what Google says. 45, 000 results (a relatively tiny return for a Google search - cinematography has 25.7 million), the top result is a reddit page, followed pretty closely by a tumblr and a deviantart page. Seems pretty silly to me.

But then, maybe I'm just not cool enough to know what real kinography is? I don't discount that possibility.

TR-8R is probably the droid equivalent of a Sith. You know he's name should be a dead give away, but he's just so highly placed or currently useful that you just can't do anything about it and have to work with him until that changes.

I could see Palpatine naming a droid that for instance.

The TFA defense force is real tho. Try saying anything bad about that shit movie then watch as its members acuse you of shitposting or baiting.

>>13680026

Try saying something good about it and watch as people disagree with you and talk about how terrible it is, often questioning your taste and in at least one case whether you're being paid to say it. That doesn't mean there's a TFA offense forice, it just means people have differing opinions on a thing. Because people always do. The I, Jedi books specifically cite Vader as having a rare Force talent for absorbing and redirecting energy that Horn shares which allowed him to absorb the energy of the blaster bolts too. I don't know which takes precedence, but there's no reason it can't be both and both are similarly in questionable canonicity at the moment given the Disney acquisition.

You are being half-truthful here at best. And said guide-book is written "in" universe. The novelization of TESB and all other sources directly state or imply Vader is using the Force. Its called Tutamanis which is why Yoda does against both Dooku and Sidious in Episode II and Episode III.

Even said guide book talks about Vader's Force powers.
