Depends on if Ashoka can do what their Mir can do.
I'd always assumed that the Seto Island Mir fragment they had mitigated their symptoms by actually going into their body as a gas and since Ashoka is a giant tree, it probably can't do that.
But Ashoka being a tree it might also be able to RELEASE a gas to that if it's mimicry of a tree enables it to release something similar to Oxygen. I have faith in Ashoka, simply because it's ability to not only produce barriers, but barriers with pin point accuracy to defend people is so strong.
At worst, I believe Ashoka just won't be as GOOD at being a Biosphere, which will mean all the sick adults will have to do less. Further postulation might mean this is why getting as many survivors from Srinigar was important, because most of the Island natives are going to have to operate in much more limited capacities and thus sheer man power is required now to make the difference.
