Why is this show so great? Every single episode I've had a great time. Great robots, nice fights, Jiron is awesome, the whole shebang's had me smiling.
Xabungle thread?
I personally believe Xabungle is one of the best put-together /m/ shows out there. It's pretty much always the same level of rock solid the whole way throughout, and is enjoyable to watch.

It's because you don't actually have to take Tomino's writing seriously whenever you watch it, unlike all his other shows.
Sometimes, I wish there were more lighthearted adventure /m/ shows like Xabungle, Gorg, and Conan than MUH SERIOUS WAR DRAMA that everyone here seems to jerk off to.

Also, the fact that so many Walker Machines only have very old plastic kits, many mostly unavailable, makes me sad.

Xabungle did drama pretty well, though. It just never drops the lightheartedness. It's entirely possible to introduce dark elements and still keep the story relatively light if you are a decent writer.
(There are quite a few more lighthearted /m/ shows if you know where to look. Dai Guard's the most obvious, but the other ones are there. Not entirely sure I'd say Gorg is one, but I can see where you're coming from.)

Also, are there any high-res versions of the Xabungle art? There's the boxes, but you also have those misc. images of Walker Machines and other things you get people posting sometimes. Any good versions of them?

Candy toys are sold in stores, not in vending machines like gacha, and they usually are available through online vendors as sealed cases. In my experience, a case usually contains at least one of each different toy, some times even the secret ones a set might have.
